{TL;DR Version} Before you start whining about balance, remember that CCP said they would have a filter for those that don't want to be in games that have PSMove or KB+M ppl in it. Dust is pretty unusable beyond hip firing when using the PlayStation-ĞMove controller.
[Wish List]
- Gesture sensitivity option.
- Dynamic deadzones.
- Modal, focal, and quick turn modes for PS Sharpshooter AND vanilla Move.
- Being able to set a zero deadzone.
- Different sensitivity settings for when ADS.
- Left handed and customizable control scheme.
- When shooting from the hip, the gun needs to point where you are aiming.
- ADS should zoom in where your targeting reticule is.
- Adaptive zoom option for ALL controllers.
- Ability to set grenades to be in the weapon wheel so we can map another action to L2 for ALL controllers.
- New Grenade throwing mechanics:
- Tapping: throws grenade normally
- Holding: Control the trajectory of the grenade
- Slow release of the grenade button: Cancel grenade throwing
{Long version}
[Problems] You have to move the cursor far from the center/break your aim to turn.
The setting the deadzone borders doesn't seem to match what we want it to and 0 setting is too big.
When you aim down the sight of your weapon, the turning speed is cripplingly slow, iresponsive to small movements, and worst of all, it doesn't even aim where you were pointing, making ADS completely useless.
Fixes Rotating your view should be based based on how far away you move the crosshair from the center of the bounding box even more, so maximum turn speed can be more easily reached. The setting the deadzone number to 0 should actually represent having no deadzones like in Modern Combat Domination.
Add more more turning options Turn mode options need to be added such as quick, modal, and focal and dynamic deadzones.
Dynamic deadzones has the bounding boxes redrawn when you stop turning to the new cursor location.
Heres a detailed analysis that shows focal, quick, and modal turn options for the PS Move/sharpshooter.
These could be set to be activated by pressing L1+L2 or on all the time for modal and quick. If no turn mode is set or if a turn mode is set to on all the time, L1+L2 should lock the camera.
- Quick maps camera angle directily to the move one, so it's basicly like its a mouse.
- Modal turn mode sets a super small deadzone.
- Focal turn mode spawns a tight deadzone wherever you are pointing and is resettable.
**Also** We should be able to set grenades to be in the weapon wheel so we can map another action to L2.
- Adaptive zoom option should be added for ALL controllers..
- When shooting from the hip, the gun needs to point where you are aiming.
- ADS should zoom in where your targeting reticule is.
- Add sensitivity settings for when ADS.
The PS3, PSEye and PSMove can automatically fix misalignment problems when you pushing the controller up along the y-axis. If we try that and that doesn't fix our problem, we should be able to have a quick minamal effort recalibration option show up when we enter the neocom.
UI
- A lot of menus call for R2 when there is no R2 on the Move controller. When the PSMove is in use, change it to "T" trigger button.
This is one way I want the move controller to work.
Dead Space Extraction, Killzone 3, and Socom 4 had the best PS Move implementations. Hopefully Dust 514 can learn from them and make something awesome.
I look forward to seeing the improvements!

I bought my PS Move and sharpshooter couple of months back solely for this game, I trained in Killzone 3 to be ready.
Then came my surprise that Move cant be really used at this stage.
So I also have my hopes for improvements, in the mean time, only viable way for me is KB/M (apart being in the HAV or LAV). I played Counter Strike when it came out and no matter how hard I try, that little knob thingy on Sixaxis just doesnt do the job for me, moving that so precise in a range of 2 cm instead of moving the whole arm on like 20cm is a big difference...
I respect all the controller players who are able to point in the head while strafing and jumping with a controller.

Great post. I can do without some of those extras, but they would be nice. I can't stand fps games with a dualshock controller, but this game is really borderline useable using a move controller. killzone 3 and resistance 3 are perfect examples of move controller games that are well done as far as the move functions and aim. I'd love to use the sharp shooter in dust, but it doesn't work well. |

definitely adopt a sharpshooter/Move layout more like killzone3, or an optional config for it please please!
Q. I have a question for other sharpshooter users-- how is anyone with a sharpshooter able to access the weapon wheel -- esp. to do logistics for instance? Is there a better way to switch to the resuscitator than taking your hand off the gun and reaching over to the end of the barrel and taking your eyes off the screen to see what you are doing, to press the 'Move(TM)' button? I find that almost impossible to do in the middle of combat:( . . . and be alive after.

Hey mate,
The button below the trigger of the Sharpshooter rear grip is the 'Move' button. (You'd have your non-trigger fingers resting on it as you hold the gun grip normally). That's the one to hit to swap weapons.
Holding it down brings up the weapon wheel, and from there a slight gesture down and right will select the Res tool.
The only problem I have then is that given I'm now aiming off center to hit the res thing, when I let go of the button to select it, I'm on now spinning right and looking down! lol.
As to the OP. Check out the latest build and see what you think now. I have been pleasantly surprised compared to previous version of move support.. I play with 0,0 deadzones and it seems to be doing everything I expect.
I would like separate deadzone configs for ADS too. I can hope for that in a future release hopefully. |

Personally I think It's easier and quicker to tap that button and cycle thru, at least you can stay on target, not ideal but its what we have to work with right now. This is an issue when Squad leader as well and can only be achieved with a separate DS3 controller for setting orders. It is essentially unworkable for move users and I dont do squad leading at all when I am using it. |
