I'm not sure how much of a difference this makes from game to game, but how well does VoIP work in dust?
Could somebody explain how to switch between the squad and team channels for voice chat?
and is the push-to-talk button (left on the D-Pad) a toggle or a hold?
Thanks guys. |

I picked up the ps3 wireless stereo headset and it works very well. Great sound, non-issue.

Also works well with my pc for mumble / ts3 / etc. |

You can join either squad or team. Push to Talk just toggles talking, not where you talk. To change you click Select, then click on the channel you want to talk in (squad or team) then select "activate voice". |

It's random. If it was Arkombine etc it might have stood a chance, but I think few people redid their characters after the sp wipe since that would have been a pita to coordinate. |

I am using a cheap logitech USB headset. Works fine
Select is the chat interface key. Slides out the multiframe UI on the right. Use the joystick to hi light the area of that UI you want to interact with
When you hi light a particular channel (like Team or Squad or Local) you can press X and select Activate Voice to make that you active talk/listen channel
If this helps, iam Howard Sanchez. Otherwise, call me Frame. (sprints for cover) |

Oh, yes, the push to talk key (default left D pad) is hold to talk, not toggle. I have used both open mic and PTT but the wind chimes in my temple distract from my clearly barked orders so PTT for me

I literally JUST bought the headset yesterday. It comes in today in a few hours. The virtual surround system isn't top knoth like a normal Dolby Digital 7.1 but it's great from what I hear and it gets the job. It's honestly a great value. You won't find any better wireless headsets at the same price or cheaper. Amazon has it for $81.96. Plus my $10 extra for one day shipping, seems worth it to me. |

Bros, I wasn't even aware you could use any old bluetooth headset with the PS3.

I tried doing that, but the crappy one I had sitting around kept shutting itself off to save battery life.
Picked up a Giotek after that, and it works pretty well except for the constant crackling. (Nobody seems to complain about it, but it makes my voice icon light up constantly.) |

The Official Sony Wireless headset, the new $100.00 one or w/e is by far the best I've owned for the price. I had the Turtle Beach PX21's before and find the Sony one to be far better. They've got a better one for like $150 but all depends on your price range.

would be worth it if it worked with video playback on the PS3, sadly it won't. |
