OK just like every shooter since MOVE came out, the devs loaded in a standard module and left it there. NOT good enough - when zoomed the MOVE system requires multliple inches of travel to adjust aiming reticule. That makes the zoom feature useless using MOVE. OK, maybe I could deal with that but even set to minimum it should be more responsive in a firefight. Provide a ZERO dead-zone so that MOVE players can be competetive with the controller players. Its silly to have the MOVE system layered into this game if you aren't going to let those players actually have the same chance as the others.
Currently even set to minimum standards there is about a 5inch wide dead zone on a 42 inch screen. This causes you to have to wave the damned assault rifle around like a wand to move your aiming reticule while in ZOOM, turret, tank etc. They are afraid all of us who use the MOVE system might kick ass on the clumsy-thumbsy noobs... LOL! Seriously tho, fix it on the next patch and I bet u find a lot of MOVE players happy to sign up. None of the other shooters support us very much, I think mainly out of fear of competition! |

All good observations, and no intent to sound pompous LOL! I guess my final point was to indicate how WELL one could run and gun w the MOVE rifle IF they allowed a zero dead zone floating reticule.
And to those who say the move is crap try playing some shooters that DO track with no dead zone like the House of the Dead games or The Shoot. On those games I get a very acurate reticule, but they don't allow player movement. If they allowed guys w the full $200 setup to play the MAG/DUST style games w that accurate aiming, Im betting even a noob could shoot straight. That maybe it might step on the toes of the invested couch potato thumbster, cause a few too many forum ***** sessions. you know exactly what the titles would be; MOVE SYSTEM UNFAIR ADVANTAGE
Now personally I have always wanted a more virtual gaming experience. I have had a full racing chair cockpit setup for GRan Turismo for years. I play all the instruments of Rockband 1 2&3, including PRO instruments, etc. If you think the shooters are fun with a controller you would have a blast w a full Sony wireless headset, 3D glasses and standing on a rumble floor with the rifle up and firing the whole match! You finish up sweating, shaking and yelling your head off, laughing!
Anyway I really do enjoy the MOVE system more than the comtroller. I really do think they are shorting what could be done with the technology. I realy do think the control setup for the MOVE is a pluggable module with default settings for shooter engines because the button maping here is the exact same as for Resistance 3, the assault rifle showcase game. Am I better with a controller? Right now, sure. Not that I am very good anyway, since I am 45 and only game a few hours a week (real life intrudes LOL)
And thats why the MOVE is more fun. MOST of us are not very good at shooters, one has to dedicate WAY too many hours of your life to do so. I would rather slug it out with the MOVE rifle, just for the fun and immersion into the virtual world for a while. |

Yeah Booker I hear you: lets hope CCP does too. Didja notice how quickly everyone gave up on the MOVE system for shooters? IF they would fix the aiming issues it would soar above the DS controllers as the preferred method of playing. I think the devs worry that if they allow the MOVE system full ability in game, that suddenly 95percent of all players would feel left out and unable to compete. There is a very real concern about income stream being reduced in this type of game, and having to go buy special MOVE system controllers add a heavy price penalty. They worry that if they allowed us full utilization we would have much better aiming and firing on the run, advantages they feel would reduce overall game enjoyment for the majority.
If this is the case, let me reassure them that I am getting my ass kicked repeatedly by 14yr old reflexes using DS controllers, there are guys calling down orbital strikes on lone noobs, most of the players run around like chickens while a squad of 4 racks up 57 kills. Its already badly out of balance, and guys like me will not spend money on this game if it is nothing but ambushes and overpowering opponents. Give us the ability to fight back on their level! |

Thanks and keep the feedback lcoming. Sounds like we are a small minority but I know most people wait for the bugs to be squashed before jumping on board a new controller platform like MOVE.
Trust me folks, play The Shoot - cheesy but super FUN! I sense a definite lack of fun so far in DUST. Dont care for the lack of color, variation, vegetation, etc. Also its way too easy to power up with the skill and weapon trees, using real cash. I dont even bother using up custom loadouts so far due to repeated ambushes by gys that don't go down no matter how many times I hit em! LOL and of course they prang me dead in one or two hits. I finally hit on a combo that keeps me alive if I don't stop moving! But i am not getting kills. |

I ran the controls up to max sensetivity on both axis - seems to be fast enough if u r using scout suit or assault. I noticed its worse in games during prime play time. After school, after supper etc. Lagging slow DSL players using wireless. Just like MAG the slower wireless players tended to take fewer hits. I guess their systems thought you were shooting somewhere else besides right freaking at them... |

That was my point the problem is with the MOVE is that it doesnt. If you want to jump around in your living room running ducking behind your couch sweating and looking like a total fool to any outside observer. Going negative in your kdr with a way to phalic looking device in your hand...than your right. The move is for you.
ROTFL I got a serious mental image ther dude! I hear what you are saying. My experience is not that bad with it. Vry responsive in most games and adjustable in SOME. I dont have to "jump aound" with it, but the point of this thread is that the MOVE controls and interface could use some tweaking. IF they WERE tweaked I think it could give the DS controller players a run for their money...especially in close quarters run and gun situations. Just MHO
