As a full time LAV driver with a 200 000 ISK fully-loaded Methana, I'm getting sick of AV grenades. Yes, I know that they're meant to be used for this purpose, but when any player can just grab a couple and toss them at my vehicle for an easy kill, it's pretty annoying. I can take one easily, but two are extremely hard to survive unless I can time my armor repairer just right. So I'm asking for a slight nerf to the "homing missle" effect that was put on it, or their damage. Keep them strong enough to kill militia LAV's with one hit, but no more. And for clarification, I'm talking about standard AV grenades.
Also, there needs to be a driver lock on vehicles. I regularly switch to my turret seat to take out targets nearby. and when some a-hole wants to take a joyride in my LAV with me nervously sitting the the passenger seat, it's annoying as ****. Especially when thy ignore the fact that I have reppers on it, and just leave it at the first swarm hits.

I'm generally ok with AV nades, perhaps the cheap ones get a small nerf...small
I agree, yo should have the option to lock your vehicle from teammates and they would have to hack a vehicle if it was locked, maybe a 1/3 of the time to hack an enemy vehicle but if the owner dies, the lock is removed..

upgrade to the rolling fortress called limbus. Thats all what i can say. natural damage resistance+armor reistance amplifiers=4 forgegun hits till you blow up. In the last build i even survived 2 sagaris railgun hits try to top that. And i dont know if its in this build the same but the limbus couldnt catch on fire even when you had only like 100 armor HP left. i think the enemy willl need around 5 Av grenades to blow it up. |

I am a dedicated user of those (infamous) AV grenades and after a few 'free kills' I noticed that they do quite a lot of damage. The starting AV grenades destroy militia LAV's on one hit and some of the tanks that I've seen get destroyed with 5-6. Those might be militia / otherwise poorly fitted.
As a solution I might suggest that LAV drivers don't stop for too long and that the 'homing' distance to be reduced ever so slightly.
Tank drivers could do better with fittings. I've seen tanks that I couldn't even scratch with 3 AV grenades. |

Stop trying to run people over, you took the risks of bringing it within the limited throwing distance of an av grenade, unless they changed something and you can throw the advanced level grenades more than 5-10 meters.
My fat suit costs more than your LAV, so does that mean I automatically win against it.... cost is the rally cry of the ones who need a vehicle with unlimited ammo against low level players in order to justify their "skills". |

So, you drive at people with AV nades, and then you jump into the most exposed position you could find on your whole vehicle. And you want things nerfed? You might be specialising in LAV's, but they're never going to take a lot, and the "turret" is free headshots. |

I agree with the lock and the removal of lock if owner dies - no hacking - defeats the purpose of locking IMO. I hate when this has happened to me. Usually, for me though, it's cause I spawn a jeep to get some where - get out - and intend to get back in after I have accomplished my goal. Some fool runs a long and steals my LAV while I'm busy. That sux - I have only used stock builds so it's not so painful, but if you are vested in a vehicle such as OP, then I would be ****ing pissed. |

I feel the same about my Dropships, I imagine that with more skills in my upgrades to armor and shields I'll be even better with my fitings. Swarmers own my butt every time. I can get out of the area of a Forger (to slow to aim) but the swarmers still take me out. With 300-500k builds they are damned expensive - and not really worth it for the cash payout we have now.. but that is off topic.
Sorry, deal with it. I want counter measures - dont nerf anything, just give me ways to adapt. What would help you Adapt? I would like some flares. U? |

LOL :) I agree and still I think that it might be the purpose of AV nades to have the purpose of stopping people running over every pedestrian. Or at least make them think about it. My GF tells me everytime we have been killed by an AV nade that I DID NOT HAVE TO try to run over them.
Actually it's pure stupidity of myself .. same as running head on on a scout suit with a shotgun. |

Um, those A-holes are trying to assist you in piloting and manning a multi-person vehicle. If the LAV was meant to be driven and fired by the same person, I'm pretty sure they would have included the controls to do so. Get a teammate in your "pro" LAV and quit bitching. Maybe your teammates find it annoying when you drive off solo in a vehicle as they sprint towards it ready to help you?
Don't you just hate it when other people in a team game try to help each other?... Just just... go play CoD or something please. |

To comment on the original posters post, LAVs are intended as quick transport, using speed to avoid attacks, like AV grenades. I've seen people adapt to people on a match using AV grenades. You know what they do? Stop trying to run people over and getting blown up. This is a team game. On another point even in a squad based game lone wolves are sometimes required. But a lot of people are in the cod mindset, so most players are lone wolfing it, which is a problem, but eventually I feel those people shall be weeded out for the cooperative mindset to sink in. |

Just the other day I finally unlocked a full HAV Gunnlogi with Large missile launcher and sweet do-dads that all in all set me back around 400-500k. Needless to say I was so excited with my new monster and was counting the seconds for it to deploy when all of a sudden I was Dead! Silly me... I hadn't realized it was quite a BIG monster and had crushed me
The worst part was that one of my own team ran up, did NOT heal me ( he was in a Logi suit ) and stole it as I looked on in horror...
So yea... Driver lock FTW!

My comment wasn't about the vehicle, it was about the driver. The jeep isn't of much use if it's a burned-out shell because the driver tried to use it as a battering ram or his own personal missle-lauching platform. By the way, I don't smoke. Perhaps you should quit, because it seems to have affected your reading comprehension skills. |
