i keep getting 15+ and maybe a death or two on BAD days with my militia assault shotgun fit i'm not sure if my reputation should precede me at this point
i get the feeling this gun is just too powerful this build i've noticed the shotgun seems to be only very sparingly effected by the bad hit detection, maybe it's powerful simply because of that?
i mean if you would all prefer i switch to a sagaris, that's cool too |

Militia shotgun needs to be toned down, my militia fit nets me 15+ kills all day long. Shotguns have been good at least since the second build, I've been running shotgun scouts since then >_< |

i think cavity and fused grenades are the strongest case for dust moving into a pay to win phase. it'd be completely fine if there was an isk variant, possibly with higher fitting costs and requiring grenadier IV or something, but there MUST be an isk variant |

They definitely seem to be more powerful this time round, and possibly with more range, too. The only shotguns i feared last build were prototype where the merc had his sharpshooting leveled up.
I'm wondering if the biggest part of the difference isn't that everybody and their dog are in militia suits - I'm certainly living in militia gear these days, and a militia shotgun within about 50 feet one-shots me. |

I'm pretty sure they increased the range on shotguns, I didn't really care for that change considering just how good they are. I mean, it's a 1 hit KO weapon in a lot of situations, 2 hits in many other cases, and the occasional 3-4 hits for heavies. Shotguns are more about positional awareness and abusing reloads, also with catching your opponents off guard. That's how I get most of my kills, just ghosting up on people and letting loose.
I think militia shotguns need their damage toned down, and perhaps non breach shotguns should have their range pulled back just a hair. I'd feel bad for running a shotgun scout, but I've been doing it since May...soo.... |

Shotgun - CQC range
Working as intended
The shotgun is ment to be powerful up close, it mostly OHK alot like scouts/logi and assault and 2/3 heavys, if it gets nerfed it will be useless
TBH this is the only game that the shotgun actually feels like a shotgun and idiots want it to be ruined so it turns into an AR only game |

The militia variant does needs looking at. The breach version is the only one that should be reliably OHK because it only holds 2 rounds before having to reload. |

Haven't had much issues with shotgun users, but if militia shotgun is THAT powerful the Militia variant might need some adjustments to encourage people to use the more costly ones.

i think it's a combination of
1) base shotgun range and falloff was buffed by about a half a meter or so
2) militia shotgun is slightly too damaging for a militia weapon
3) the shotgun suffers only slightly from bad hit detection, unlike most other weapons
4) everyone is in militia suits
i personally prefer an assault shotgun build, it's more resilient so i can afford to close the gap without zig zagging also i almost universally sneak up on people to kill them, especially big groups of enemies that are focused in one direction. |

In earlier builds games weren't nearly as populated so opposing players quickly figured out that I had a shotgun, the kills would start to dry up and cat and mouse games would begin.
Now that it's 12+ players per side from the very start, the maps are more crowded and you can get easy kills throughout the entire match. |

It's really hit or miss. Either they eat all your shots without taking any damage, or they just kind of die >_< |

Keep using it if your doing well unless YOU fancy a change. If it's too effective keep using it until other people start saying it's broken. Maybe the militia variant should fire less projectiles per shot instead of having 2 less shells though? No idea about number of projectiles. |

All Militia items have the same stats as the standard version of the item, except for a higher CPU and PG cost.. As for how much damage they do, I see no problem with it. Almost everyone's using Standard level suits ATM, so Militia/Standard shotguns SHOULD blow holes in them. |

ya will I run assault and I do 20 plus games with a tactical rifle so I do not think it is overpowered I just think you no how to use it just like i no how to us my tactical rifle.
but really if you start spending money on gear it makes a huge difference, My suit atm costs me 70k isk and I have been using this suit for about a week now and i make a huge profit ever game because I never die so gear makes a bigger difference then people give credit so this may have something to do with it. |
