Perhaps I've romanticized my ideas of being a hardcore Logistics player. Ive got prototype repair tools and nanite injectors and am working on my drop suits now. Regardless of the scoreboard, I always feel like I've contributed a lot. However, I began to notice the cost comparisons between the other suit classes and it's quite discouraging to me. I'll pay a hefty amount of isk to stay fitted to heal and revive everyone but the price is crazy. 225k~ for the prototype drop suit? Even if I manage to obtain new items from my newly leveled skill points, there's no way I could afford to fit what really counts plus the other extra stuff. There's assaults and scouts that are running standard everything or higher, calling tanks, doing a good job of laying waste and earn all that back plus major profit. I don't want to be the player on the top of the boards all the time. But for those that are, they are constantly achieving that with their new fits. I want to bring all my new stuff to my team but I'll be broke within a couple of days doing that.

Prototype logi is like prototype any other dropsuit, crazy expensive for more utility. Your militia and basic logi suits are just as helpful on the battlefield as militia and logi assaults, if not more so.

i'd like to see the logi legitimately well tanked. nobody is gonna help anybody if they're dead.
the logi is already adaquately gimped by it's large(ish) hitbox, low(ish) mobility, and complete lack of sidearm. i don't think it also needs reduced EHP
i appreciate that CCP recently bumped the shields up a bit, but i'm still not sold. maybe at prototype tier when you pick up that 4th high slot it'll work out but.. meh? the extra low slot at advanced tier isn't super helpful if you can't self rep with the repair kit anymore. then at standard tier it has no slot advantage at all... sad times.
though i honor your burden if you decide to tough it out and see how it works.
edit: and ftr, the proto logi is NOT just like every other proto suit. it costs a solid 100k MORE than a proto assault... so that's pretty ******. oh and not to mention that the only advantage to the logi is it's extra slots. so you can carry more stuff.. stuff you gotta pay for.
it's like a money suit with extra money pockets you can stuff with money, then you throw that money at friends and enemies for varying effects. |

Running proto gear in high sec matches shouldn't be cheap IMNSHO. Although I agree that the warpoint rewards should be higher for running support, but that's been mentioned at least in every second Logi thread in here... |

You will not be using Proto unless you are in a good squad/team. Even with a k/d of 5/10. It was a 0 ISK cost for you had a revive at your side. You will cost more as logi for you will be the best asset for your team, the best cost the most its that simple. Your team will keep you up. Proto logi has so much to work with, I used in last build and had a good time. And with the new shield mod even more so. After I work up heavy more Logi is next |

I had a hard time understanding what you were trying to say. Had to re-read your post a few times.
My point is this, I don't see the personal incentive of being a logistics. The war points earned through the various heals and revives don't seem to stand up against other classes. I wouldn't mind the cost if I noticed the amount of SP I earned was substantially higher. I wouldn't want to use my proto stuff if the team was bad but you can still go into a match and still earn a lot of SP and isk just running and gunning with your prototype assault scout or heavy and do well all by yourself. As a Logi, I don't expect or see myself to be doing all that. |

Logi is perfect for me because I'm crap at shooters. If I ran assault or scout I'd get maybe 200 warpoints in a match. Running logi with all the repping, reviving, and spawning, gets me hundreds of warpoints. |

There's other ways to get war points in some game modes. I usually get the majority of mine hacking and such. People who die are usually out of my range of survivability. I can heal people constantly from 31.5 meters so I do my best to stay out of firefights unless they need extra suppressive fire. |
