Good luck the devs have responded to just about every other form of question around here at least once, funny I have yet to see anything MOVE related come up.
For this project, if you don't own your TV ask your parents for permission first: You will need: A tape measure A ruler A small bubble level, and another junk one you can take apart Yellow Sticky pads (color is just the most available one usually) 1 roll of medium blue painters tape 1 roll of scotch tape (the hazy kind not the clear) A Black magic marker.
1. Measure your TV. From the Inside of the frame, ie you only want the actual screen size. Go grab yourself some sticky pads. You'll need 4 to start with, put + or X the same size as the piece of sticky pad using the magic marker and a ruler, put these on the frame of the TV not the actual screen. Mark the center for horizontal and vertical with the sticky pads.
2. Measure and find the exact center of the pseye camera, the lens area and the base it sits upon. Use the scotch tape to mark the center of that on the base with the tape and marker; and then line up to the horizontal center of the TV. With that done, either on top of tv (with the pseye clip) or at the base, you will then need to use the small bubble level to make sure the camera is level and true.
3. Measure from the front of the pseye out 9 ft or approx 3m, use the blue painters tape on the floor, that is the maximum distance the pseye will work. So you actually want to also mark 8ft, 7ft, and 6ft. This will allow you to know where to stand or sit while using it. If standing I recommend going with the camera above the tv, if sitting at the base of the tv; but it can be calibrated for either from each position, you just have to watch out for the up/down angle of the camera if you positioning it to look down on you from height or up from no height. This is also conditional on the height of your TV, is the center of your screen eye level from a seated position...like a professional tv install should be?
4. Turn off the magnetic sensor for the ps move from the xmb accesories on the ps3, and then calibrate. On my sharpshooter I have a small very low powered laser pointer that I use to hit the 4 main sticky's as bullseyes and to know when I am getting close to turning, my sharpshooter also has 2 bubble levels on it for horizontal and vertical becasue you need to hold it right. Calibrate it again from the xmb making sure you are close as possible to doing it the same way every time, you will need to practice this a few times.
4a. You will also want to possible mess with the screen scale setting to make sure that everything lines up right. I had to lower mine down to 75 for the whole screen to be my whole screen.
5. You would then calibrate it again from inside the game options menu before playing, this time it should be easier. Now you want to make some more sticky pads with a line going thru the center, these will be put on the frame of the tv also, but will be used to mark your turrning zones (or bounding boxes), you will need 8 pieces of sticky pad for this (up down left and right) around the frame. Play around with the sizes of the boxes so you know when you will start to turn to the left/ right and up/ down.
