Is it just me?
I can't seem to aim with the move controller.
In zoom mode the cursor resists moving then all a sudden jumps past the target. Then I carefully try and move the cursor back over the stationary target and again it resists and again it suddenly jumps past the target. And the continues again and again.
I'm new to 514 but this does not seem correct.
The standard controller works fine for me and I have no trouble aiming.
I have yet to make a kill using the move controller!!!
Is this a known issue?
regards

yes the zoom mode is pretty useless with move controls. the deadzone makes it impossible to hit anything.
came to try dust514 with the move this morning. left dissapointed. |

The DS3 is currently the only control scheme that doesn't bounce around, based on what you're saying. KBM is very jumpy as well.
Edit: Until you hit the turn speed cap that is :/ |

I tried the Move several times before I finally gave up due to the useless ADS. I've got the KZ "gun" for the move and really wanted it to work, but it just slapped me in the face. Why knowingly release it totally broken and pump so much frustration into the community? Don't we have enough bugs to deal with? |

gotta agree with you there. The fact is it is so broken that it will surely be fixed for full release. The frustrating thing is that there is never any dev replies to these Move feedback posts to offer some reassurance that improvements are on the way. |

So, I'm new to the MOVE controller and was hoping to use it for DUST.
FIRST thing I noticed is my inverted look was backwards! Had to go to regular controller settings to set it back to normal, then I could at least use the controller.
Next, I went 0/6 in one match, learning controls. I actually got a partial hit on someone and several near misses.
I was thinking of giving up due to the learning curve and zoom movement, BUT then realized I could adjust some more settings for this.....I may give it another try.

Hey dont give up yet, current move support in dust is not great but is just about playable as long as you dont zoom. It is beta and there has to be improvements as game could not be released as is. Maybe practice on KZ3 or Res 3 to learn how to use it when properly implemented I would also recomend sharpshooer peripheral |

Try this! It works very very! I cant say much about zooming cos thats not my style! But its great for run and gun!
The best thing would be to adapt to the DS3! Thats the weapon of the beasts! |

Thanks for the tips.
I am sniping, and actually have had little problem with zooming. My main problem has been keeping controller steady when running and coordinating my switches between weapons for taking shots. So far, both of those have been awkward and slowed me down alot.

If I read right and you come from a SOCOM background, it takes a while to get used to the controls. Overhead vs FP can be tricky and takes a bit of practise to get used to. If you are sniping I would recommend to stick to the DS3. Carry an SMG as backup and make sure you have your cardiac regulators. They are very useful now if you are trying to evade those bullets! |

Good luck the devs have responded to just about every other form of question around here at least once, funny I have yet to see anything MOVE related come up.
For this project, if you don't own your TV ask your parents for permission first: You will need: A tape measure A ruler A small bubble level, and another junk one you can take apart Yellow Sticky pads (color is just the most available one usually) 1 roll of medium blue painters tape 1 roll of scotch tape (the hazy kind not the clear) A Black magic marker.
1. Measure your TV. From the Inside of the frame, ie you only want the actual screen size. Go grab yourself some sticky pads. You'll need 4 to start with, put + or X the same size as the piece of sticky pad using the magic marker and a ruler, put these on the frame of the TV not the actual screen. Mark the center for horizontal and vertical with the sticky pads.
2. Measure and find the exact center of the pseye camera, the lens area and the base it sits upon. Use the scotch tape to mark the center of that on the base with the tape and marker; and then line up to the horizontal center of the TV. With that done, either on top of tv (with the pseye clip) or at the base, you will then need to use the small bubble level to make sure the camera is level and true.
3. Measure from the front of the pseye out 9 ft or approx 3m, use the blue painters tape on the floor, that is the maximum distance the pseye will work. So you actually want to also mark 8ft, 7ft, and 6ft. This will allow you to know where to stand or sit while using it. If standing I recommend going with the camera above the tv, if sitting at the base of the tv; but it can be calibrated for either from each position, you just have to watch out for the up/down angle of the camera if you positioning it to look down on you from height or up from no height. This is also conditional on the height of your TV, is the center of your screen eye level from a seated position...like a professional tv install should be?
4. Turn off the magnetic sensor for the ps move from the xmb accesories on the ps3, and then calibrate. On my sharpshooter I have a small very low powered laser pointer that I use to hit the 4 main sticky's as bullseyes and to know when I am getting close to turning, my sharpshooter also has 2 bubble levels on it for horizontal and vertical becasue you need to hold it right. Calibrate it again from the xmb making sure you are close as possible to doing it the same way every time, you will need to practice this a few times.
4a. You will also want to possible mess with the screen scale setting to make sure that everything lines up right. I had to lower mine down to 75 for the whole screen to be my whole screen.
5. You would then calibrate it again from inside the game options menu before playing, this time it should be easier. Now you want to make some more sticky pads with a line going thru the center, these will be put on the frame of the tv also, but will be used to mark your turrning zones (or bounding boxes), you will need 8 pieces of sticky pad for this (up down left and right) around the frame. Play around with the sizes of the boxes so you know when you will start to turn to the left/ right and up/ down.

We need the ability to tune the dead-zone to true zero. No bounding box, just zero. Maybe that would help. Instead of trying to dial it in from only one direction, they might try making it too sensitive and work their way out.
Just a thought. |
