We are in a closed beta and yet they allowed players to buy their way in it. I don't know you but if Dust 514 were really so far from the release that would not have happened at all. |

SURE ! I'm already thinking about the next dust , on the ps4 .. ^^ They sure are on the right path IMO , all they need now is a good fanbase. just look up planet side 1 and planetside 2 on youtube , and you WILL see how much better a game can with a good and loyal fanbase. |

Does Dust514 have a future? Yes. If you do not like the game so be it, but the please do us the favor and leave. No one really cares. The ones in question that I speak of -- offer no constructive criticisms, or help. They offer no benefit to the community, and only vex the people. We know who they are too. Some of them are posting in this very thread. At any rate the game has a bright future, and the game will flourish. Especially if CCP can start more advertisings, and promotions outside the circle they have built upon.

It's really more of a matter that this is a beta. Almost all the "problems" your original post mentioned are obvious flaws in the game play that are associated with the current lack of player choice and control, or else are associated with technical bugs and other such oversights. They aren't associated with the projected core game play experience on release, minus the skill point argument.
The short of the matter is that there isn't enough data for us to say things about prices and skill points until we have more games, more grouping, and more choices for game modes. Until those critical elements arrive almost no arguments that involve player interaction or in-game rewards are very substantial.
Additionally, your post doesn't really contain any particular reason why the game wouldn't have a future on the PS3 in particular. If you were perhaps speculating on the future of the game in general you might have had a more enthusiastic response. In context, Schizo's answer is correct. Dust 514 has a bright future on the PS3, and it's here to stay. |

Right, which is why dust will migrate to ps4. Simple operation....buy the ps4.....download the client.......enter your email etc and pick up where you left off on ps3. Also, most of the freezes etc I rekon will be fixed for Monday (which is when sisi is opening to eve players), it makes sense for the problems to be fixed as the server will be 3x as full. dust 514 will go on for a long time. Dust will evolve in the same way eve has evolved. |

I'm not really sure where you're getting that idea. The only way many of the bugs are going to be fixed is with a Dust client-side update, which will probably come next month based on previous experience. |

People needed to read up more on dust and what is will evolve to be. People are missing the forest from the tree. They don't understand that there will be different parts of the universe. It's not like other FPS games were they strive to make everyone exactly equal in all shapes and forms. "They give everyone all the power in the universe and let you do with it what you will". THere will be high sec and low sec. There will be PvE in this game to earn ISk and SP. There will be non combat aspects to the game. We are just here to get a fraction of the game right.
I mean look at minecraft. People literally bought into the alpha. It had bad graphics and a lot of people "didn't get it" but a lot of other people did. I don't understand, instead of talking about commander dropsuits and what they will be able to bring to the table, or the perfect squad set-up, or what the roles are going to be and how it will effect battle. Perks of owning a planet as a dust corp. We talk about if a beta will be able to sell as well as a $60 game. Or why my eyes don't bleed from the graphics,etc.etc. |

WhatszGudDawg wrote: As the beta goes on, many things are being improved - graphics, evened out gameplay. But there are just too many things going wrong with this game right now. Lets start off with just getting into a game. With the Battle Finder completely useless, with no maps available. It's becoming such a hassle just to get into a match, with the game just searching for a round, but not finding anything. When you try to close a match set up, the game freezes and your forced to reload the whole game. Instant Battle brings up mostly Ambush maps, a map that's growing with more and more criticism. Completely random spawning, Maps far too large for a TDM, having to constantly search the map just to even try to get kills, and many more concerns. Once you actually manage to finish a round, your forced to look at a ship exploding for almost 20 seconds, or just a map moving around, with no way of just seeing your SP and ISK gained, your K/D and leaving.
That's another major problem - ISK and SP gain. If your going to make the game a challenge, having to work hard to level up taking a large amount of time, I don't have a problem with that. That is one of the only things about this game I find interesting. But you really need to reward players more after rounds. I for one am just scraping by to keep suits in working order, constantly having to use Militia Gear. Many will counter this statement with "Mostly everyone is using it" or "You should try leveling up more" - these are all true but isn't the point of this game to build your skills up to have an edge over others? But that's just it, it's become so much harder to gain an edge over others because the rate of ISK and SP gain is taking far too long. If you think running around like a noob for your whole life playing this game will be fun, you are sadly mistaken. It doesn't matter how skilled you are, once someone with the exact amount of skill of you comes along with better gear only one of you will come out on top, an it's going to be them. With prices the way they are now, even if you managed to skill up enough to use decent gear, you still wouldn't be able to afford to use them for long. The only way this problem is going to be solved is if the amount of ISK and SP earned in a match is increased.
I do my share of work in Skirmish, and Ambush. I hack installations, main objectives, Supply Depots, Clone Reanimation Units, anything I can find. I also support my team by clearing area's of enemies, gaining a few kills here and there, and so on. The lone wolf picking of people isn't my type of gameplay. I'm a team player, not some camper waiting for people to spawn. If that's how people are getting their amounts of ill-gained ISK and SP so be it, but I don't see why I and many other players are not rewarded more for actually playing this game the right way! I could really go on and on about the various flaws of this game, and we all know there are many - but the main point of this is Dust 514's future. It's success as a console game. Quite frankly, I believe this game won't go far if things continue the way they are. Because the game will be free, no profit will be made for there, with the small exception of those who would pay for a Mercenary Pack, and/or Aurum. In terms of the integration with EVE Online, this will attract many more players as well, and the general positive attitude of "free gaming" will also attract more. Overall, the game will thrive for a few years, but eventually interest will be lost. The problem is - there isn't anything that's very captivating to this game. As harsh as it sounds, in my opinion it's the truth. Anyone who is against this is entitled to their own opinion and so am I. Think about it. Someone tell me something as many things about this game that most FPS or MMO's don't do already to some extent, or even better than Dust 514. What does this game offer that others don't? Answer this, and the game can start to build a reputation in the world of consoles, not PC. I know that this is still a beta, but time flies. PS Subscribers are already playing this game, and their opinion matters to Playstation, and CCP (Along with all other players). If the game is still in the phase of many bugs and problems, what will that say about the game once it's finished? If this game is going to be ready for full release later this year, things need to shape up. I for one will be sure to write many ideas of improvement of this game, and will stand ready to do everything I can to help with the beta and full game development. Please don't take this as a hate message, just common sense and reason. Anyone with your opinion on this heavy topic, please respond! No matter your with my statements, or against me, it doesn't matter. It's what where going to do to fix this game.
IMO PC and xbox trolls are hurting this game. They want it on PC or xbox so bad they would bash the game rather it's good or not. Why not accept it for being on ps3 and be a gamer and play all systems instead of being a troll is my question to them? I think if this game do good. That is only good for gamers. Trolls just want to bash sony and support microsoft. That is not a gamer . |

Dust 514 is a nice idea, but the graphics are bad, the control of the vehicle is terrible. The game is very far for the standard FPS in graphics and interface. I'm very worried about this game because is a good chance to make anything different from the other shooters but with the Beta CCP show to us they are too far from the great game that they promised. |

Obviously never played a beta before.
I think Dust 514 has more potential than most realise. It offers quite a few new things that no other game has. And, CCP is an excellent company so I do not think they will fail this game at all.
This is not first beta I am in, and so far it is much better than those that were even in open beta or just days before release.
It is a bit silly to judge some thing that is months from being complete. Keep testing, or if you are impatient do some thing else. |

I thought that driving an lav was terrible at first too, but the controls grew on me and now i think they're pretty great.
oh, and complaining about graphics in a beta that's not even open to the general public is pointless. ccp is going to fix the bigger issues before rushing out better full textures for a game that's at least 6 months out from launch. |

tbh i love the game so far but i have a major issue with the battle finder as at the moment it does not seem to be working as intended - i have just under 1million sp so far and all of it is spent on the very basics so i dont have anything much available to use other than the militia gear and when i'm matched with other people in the same gear its fine. However getting grouped with a team full of people like myself vs a team with the ability so call in 2 sagaris tanks that when hit by 3 volleys from swarm launchers (me and 2 others all getting clear hits) only lost 1/4 shields meaning the players who called them in had i'd guess at about 3mill sp seems a tad unbalanced p.s. the tanks were configured differently so it was unlikely to have been just one person calling in tanks for their side |

I would like to see the game stable before these deeper issues about the games place or longevity are tackled. There isn't much else to say until I don't have to restart the game after every match and every now and then it completely crashes my PS3. I really hope I don't lose my machine during this Beta.
However, carry on this discussion. |

That's not going to happen, CCP has all of Eve on the same server and if Dust is on the same server as Eve, there should be no continent splitting. Why do I know this? Because I have taken the time to read through some of the information on Eve. Also, one of my clanmates from Germany plays with us on Eve. If what you say is true, this wouldn't be possible. |

Sorry didn't read the entire thread so this may have already been said.
The one thing that Dust has going for it over any other FPS or any game on console for that matter is that it has CCP making it. There will be at least 2 updates per year. I've read others say that no one does that on cosoles and can't be done and what not. I say it will happen. Why?? because CCP will continue to put out 2 expansions per year for EVE. Since these games are linked they will in turn have to put out at least a minor update to Dust to make sure both are still playing nice with each other. Knowing CCP they will also put in bug fixes and as much new content as they can at the same time.
As some others have said, give it time and you will see it bloom.

You completely misunderstand how MMO's and FPS's work.
FPS's rely on twitch controls. You need to be able to recieve and send multiple commands per second.
EvE does not require this, TiDi is a prime example of it; the only thing that's important in eve is that commands run in the right order.
As to the future: CCP, please fix the glaring bugs that are stopping people from getting in/out of matches. I know you're working on them, but it's been a week now and though they are reduced in quantity in some cases, they aren't fixed.
The trick to a good MMO is replayability; something that makes people keep coming back for a bit more. COD and BF3 realised that, hence why they have the stupid systems of ranking beyond max rank, and their sudden need to add achievements and accolades etc. Otherwise, lol COD:< Insert title here ] 4213543212321312 at another -ú50 per game (anyone remember when games were -ú25-30? on average and lasted you months? Forget that, it's been replaced with -ú50 and lasts 6 hours.)
EvE is a harsh game, but it's got some balance; for as easy as it is to lose, with thought and planning it's twice as easy to gain.
The problems with DUST right now, are the bugs primarily, and as a few others have stated, the SP gain is a little on the low side, while the ISK costs are too high on items, but the rewards are about right for npc-matches.
I've written a whole thread elsewhere on the isk-cost, and my calcs say that it's unsustainable in 0.0 at current costs. |
