WhatszGudDawg, thank you for supporting your opinion with reasons. I bit of a text wall to read, but now we are just nitpicking.
Okay, so back on topic now.
Quote: With the Battle Finder completely useless, with no maps available. It's becoming such a hassle just to get into a match, with the game just searching for a round, but not finding anything. When you try to close a match set up, the game freezes and your forced to reload the whole game. Instant Battle brings up mostly Ambush maps, a map that's growing with more and more criticism.
I do agree with you regarding the battle finder being useless on this build, but this was an intentional move by CCP. They want us to test the crap out of instant battle, so they had to forego battle finder. I will be honest, before precursor I avoided playing ambush like the plague, not a big fan of the current implementation of it on DUST, for reasons you have already stated below.
Quote:Completely random spawning, Maps far too large for a TDM, having to constantly search the map just to even try to get kills, and many more concerns.
But DUST is not the only game to suffer from those issues, I used to be an avid BF3 player and it also suffers from similar issues on TDM (as an example).
I also agree with you that the end of round experience could be more optimized, last night I was forced to restart my PS3 twice at the end of the match because it was stuck on the transition into the end of round stats. So I wasn't sure if my SP and ISK were updated to reflect the gains from the last round when I restarted (plus I was kind of curious to see how well I did).
As for the SP and ISK gains, I can't really comment on this, since I am not sure if CCP is fine-tuning the numbers to get closer to finalizing that feature, I guess time will tell. I will say that prices for items have definitely gone up, but everyone knows that, and I have definitely been using my starter kit (I play Assault) more often than before, like many others (from taking a quick look at the kill boards). I only pull out the standard dropsuit when I feel like we have control of the map, otherwise I am rolling along in Militia gear.
My belief is that will change when this game goes live, and you have the funding of EVE corps for your war machines and armory, obviously this won't be the case in High-Sec, but if players are trying to run adv or proto gear in High-Sec then I believe that they will never truly enjoy DUST.
I think that DUST will shine once we are integrated into EVE Online, and that is what differentiates it from other FPS and/or MMO games, I can't think of one in recent memory that has attempted this, whether it will be successful or not, again time will tell. I have recommended this game to one other friend (since I had an extra key) so far he likes it. He needed some guidance on how to spend skill point (in order to get better gear) and how the dropsuit fitting works (to equip better gear). Which I feel is currently lacking in DUST, and most players who try DUST for the first time will probably encounter a similar state of unknown (unless they have tried EVE).
Again this is just my opinion, and I apologize if I have repeated things already stated by other people. |
