I'm really worried. The spawn, team chat, and revive system are not conducive to team play. The random spawn of both teams spread them out to where it's one on one battles. Fine if you want to try to bleed CoD players, but then what is the point of a mmo?
The mics don't work, or give a bad impression. I spent time activating and spending credits, but I kept getting killed to activate it. Then no one had voip on anyway during the battle.
It's all for one... No clan support as I can see, but might be working on it with the corp.
To revive, there are no quick keys to swap weapons to a nano/revive. We're also so spread out that it doesn't matter. Logistics is a dead class as far as I see. I know it's not the norm, but I love reviving people. I like to fight to get to people and revive them, and MAG was my game. Battlefield 3 lets me play my way, somewhat. COD, no way in heck.
Please think about improving logistics and team play. I see no reason to play by myself on an mmo. |

yeahhh, you know push to talk is on by default right? you can turn it off, or push the left d-pad button to talk. try joining up with an actual squad, possibly from local or join the LFSquad channel or a corp.
The random spawn in ambush can be difficult to deal with for the first few minutes but usually you can get your squad regrouped eventually. Logi is definitely not dead, often some of the most successful players are logi. |

I often place an uplink in a safe place that is fairly defendable and it allows my team to spawn in one location. As we progress together there is always the chance of getting separated again, but at the time being uplinks are a good way to combat this. |

I want to address all of your points, because I agree with some and disagree with others. Voice works great when people use it, though it could benefit from it being more apparent that push to talk is enabled by default and what the key is. I don't use a KB/M but I noticed in another thread someone said that push to talk doesn't work with that setup, or that they couldn't figure out how to get it to work. You don't have to spend money to purchase voice chat, the only thing you get with the UVT is the ability to voice chat with people outside of squads or battles, the squad and battle voice chat is included for free. The best use I can see for UVT is squad leaders coordinating with commanders of multiple battles, or with ships in orbit to coordinate fleet battles or orbital bombardments/strikes.
Clans in DUST, as in EVE, are called Corporations. Support isn't implemented yet but will be either at release or within a few months of release, depending on which reports you follow. I think I've seen both as official info from CCP though I could be wrong and would be interested if someone could drudge up the answer to that one. I imagine it'll be similar to how corps are implemented in EVE, and it's a large part of what I'm looking forward to with DUST.
I also played MAG extensively, I think that until recently it was the most fun FPS on consoles, at least for me. I enjoy the objective based team play and even though some others didn't like them I loved the massive battles. I also loved how easy it was to heal and revive people, though you still had to switch to the windex gun to use it. I think the system currently in place with DUST where you have to switch to the nanite injector is a good one, though it could be a slightly faster switch in my opinion. I'm not playing logistics this build, though I dabbled a little in the last build, but I always try to give the maximum time allowed if anyone is even remotely nearby so that I save the ISK from my fit and give my teammate some SP. Unfortunately, 95% of the time it seems like even though someone capable of reviving me is around and all enemies are taken care of, I don't get revived. Usually they either hop back into their vehicles (at this point, almost always a LAV) and drive away. It's discouraging but I'm hoping that things go the way they did in MAG where people started realizing that getting revived is better for everyone and they'll start waiting longer to be revived and make an effort to revive others when they can. That part of the build is new and I suspect that most people are still used to the system the way it was in the last build, so hopefully they'll come around.
tl;dr I think logistics and voice as a whole are fine at this point, though minor adjustments like switching to the nanite injector slightly faster or providing more obvious instruction on the use of the voice options and buttons would be a welcome change. |

Logistics is a dead class? Are you kidding me?
I've been playing practically pure logistics; reviving, healing, resupplying, and providing fire support when appropriate. When I die, I run back to my teammates, and resume. No quick way to switch to nanite injector? All you have to do is tap R2, or click down on the scroll wheel. If you mean it's not the first thing you come to, change your class so the injector is on the right side of your equipment slots.
I've had a great deal of success playing as a logi, I have no idea what you're talking about. |

Same here, I play Logisitics all the time, its fun. I stay around a group people, squad or not and repair their suits and provide support fire when engaging others.
I do however dislike the selection of weapons / equipment, there have been a few times I try to switch to repair gun on the go and end up getting injector or hives.
The revival I kind of gave up on its too risky most of the time since every time I try to use it I have to circle the body a few times pressing the button before it lets me actually inject it into the corpse, often times i'm not even aiming at the body anymore but some where off the side during that time the enemy force has advanced and kills the newly revived teammate, that and snipers watch out for those guys you give them another easy kill if you revive a teammate that way. |

The key to revives is that the hitbox isn't bound to the body, it's created where the player was actually killed. Look for it on your minimap and try to center yourself on that, and it should be a little easier. But yes, it is unnecessarily difficult atm. |

I also mainly use logistic's dropsuit. It's really fun to try to stay alive, support your teammates with various things and rush on enemies sometimes.
Moreover, logistic doesn't mean "healer" or "medic" in DUST. You can fit nanohive, drop uplink, remote explosion and the other thing which increase your hacking speed (it was added with the latest patch, wasn't it?). I believe a lot more equipments will be added. For instance, I think I saw category for Active Scanner in the market.
One more thing, that have already been mentioned in this thread, If you want to regroup with your squad, find a room for Drop Uplink in your fitting (logistic or not) and use it wisely. It's always more fun if you need to use something with your mind turned on, instead of just pressing a button and respawning next to your squad member. |
