As the title kind of says, I have a headset for my pc that has audio jacks, I want to use it for my ps3 as I don't really want to get a new headset. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Your asking in the wrong forum.
Let me google that for you. Since you don't know how.
Hope that helps. |

You need a USB "soundcard" or audio adaptor. Most should be compatible.

I actually have a USB sound interface I bought for my guitar ages ago...I never thought of trying to connect it to my PS3. All these months with no mic and I probably could have been on comms the whole time. |

It's not the price that's the problem, I wear glasses and find most headsets uncomfortable after a short period. I have a set for my pc that I find ok for long periods so I'd like to use that.
I was asking on here as I was hoping someone would have one they know works with the ps3 is all
thanks for the info guys.
p.s. what is this 'google' of which you speak |

If your TV doesn't have audio out, female to female RCA barrel connectors should work. Just make sure your headset has it's own amp and volume - plug them right into the audio cables from the PS3. |

Plugging it into the TV or directly into the rca connectors won't allow your microphone to work. You will need a USB adapter. |

is it USB and audio jacks if so it should work you just have to switch the audio on the ps3 to 2channel. and if your a TS user you could put the USB into the computer/laptop to communicate with your crew and the audio jacks in the back of the tv if they are piggybacks like mine. |

Before I picked up my current headset (usb) I cobbled together a rig using a composite adaptor and female to female headphone jack adaptor. It was clunky and ugly, but worked for audio out. Used a cheapo bluetooth headset for audio in.
If you can spare the cash, getting a proper headset will work better / be simpler. I picked up the ps3 wireless stereo headset. Works great for pc games as well. |

You can use an analogue headset for DUST, one possible solution is below:
Required Kit: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/836/ps335mm.png/ An analogue 3.5mm headset with mic. A USB to 3.5mm connection for your mic into PS3 Your PS3 RCA/Phono outputs RCA/Phono twin coupler (2xf to 2xf) 3.5mm Stereo Socket to 2 x RCA/Phono
You can have HDMI output from your PS3 for video and enable the analogue output in your system menu.
