Mouse: Corsair Raptor M3 - Sensitivity is horrible, and feels very draggy, mouse smoothing did not make it any better.
Keyboard: Logitech G105 - Keys felt a little sluggish, movement was nearly spot on, Key layout made this a challenge.
On another note, I really wish that they allowed for a customized layout both for controller and keyboard. I dont know of one FPS that does not allow you to customize manually. *shakes fist at CCP* If we can do it in EVE we should be able to do it in DUST! Get with it! |

Time used: a few hours
Trick to getting useable at all: set polling switch to lowest setting (125Hz). I assume because Dust/Ps3 driver code lacks support for high polling rates. Switching DPI @800 between @1800 seemed to have no effect or slightly worse @1800.
Caveats:
Response not as fluid/speedy as PC games like TF2 where I can flip my wrist & get 360/720/1440 rotations on highest sensitivity. Dust seemed to be more like "precision mode" where rotation limited to less than 90 unless employing back stepping to "J-Turn" into 180. On the flip side, precision is very good within the narrow cone, obviously more so sighted.
Overall it still feels like there's input lag but very usable aiming at medium to long range. Trying to do diagonal command on wheel interface = fail, never mind the wheel interface sucky console kludge to begin with (ever play PS3's Red Alert 3? Yetch!).
Rant:
In addition to my usual demands for exposing all parameters for stick (axis independent sensitivity, dead zone, ramp, acceleration maps, etc..) and direct access to bind buttons/keys/axis to any function, IMHO a "precision" toggle key is needed (mouse & stick) as well as keyboard binds for weapon, accessories, & frago commands (why has CCP not simply employed the defacto PC FPS use of number keys?). You come from PC side CCP, port over some of the better design choices!

Regarding Wired mouse and Keyboards, is anyone using USB cable extensions?
Would the use of a usb extension like 3 meters be a issue regarding the power and responsiveness of a wired kbm set?
I am looking at using my KBM from the sofa, with is quite a ways from the ps3.
I dont trust much wireless, and spending on bateries / wasting time recharging is not an attractive aspect. |

Basically you can just try out if it works (There are some lengths that are mentioned, 3m or 5m as maximum length, depending on the data transfer speed). If the response time get something above 1.5-¦s the connection will be considered lost (according to a certain site). So basically you can say: "If the connection doesn't fail the added response time due to that cable is at most 1.5-¦s".
Theoretically it should be negligible. |

Hey guys, could u tell me why isnt working my mouse pointer for aiming qnd rotating camera? I can change weapon and equipment, all the buttons working on mouse in game and in menu. I tried with aimassist and without it, with smooth on/off but nothing changed. Yesterday it was working well in the 1.3. Its q simple, cheap Trust mouse. |

Slow down your swipe and do it on something very wide. I am using a very stiff price of cardboard.
What I am finding difficult is equipment selection, and squad orders are almost impossible. I wish the macro or remapping function could work around this but nothing I've tried works. Anyone have this experience, or a good solution?

What I'd love to know is why do different mice or keyboards fail to communicate with certain PS3 games, such as Dust 514? Is it something that happens on the developers side of things? This is pretty much the only game that functions properly on the PS3 with my particular mouse, UT3 has problems with it.
Anyway, my mouse is the Logitech M570, and the Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 800, both work great with this game. |

The Logitech Performance MX works wonderfully. I wish I could reassign the buttons, though, since the default middle mouse button has very little tactile response.
