Been playing since the first wave of beta keys were given ,
and I have seen how drastically this game has improved from Slideshow Bob to Breaking Bad
but there is still one annoying thing that is killing the element of surprise, the sneakiness, being an assassin and that is the red indicator on top of you....even behind mountains, buldings, top of a 100ft complex the red indicator sometimes is quite annoying if you wanna sneak thru a wave of enemies and flank them or sneak to each objectives without alerting them with your presence,,,,,,,i know that people don't want this game to be a similar shooter like battlefield, halo or cod,, but as an fps player,,,,i would like this game to add a very useful thing in combat and that is the spotting system from bf3,,,,,,
rant ,reply, respond if you think this idea is good
would love to hear feedback... |

yeah if they wanna have that kinda stuff where you can see, locate enemies or someething..they should make it a gear or an upgrad skill cuz is kinda annoying to pop out of nowhere and see the tank aiming at you straight cuz he notice that red indicator and just waited until i pop out |

Agree. Should only come up if we are spotted or shoot or throw a grenade or something. |

if its anything like cloaking in EVE, then cloaking will impart a massive movement rate penalty, so like much else in this universe, its all about the upside and downside.
from what i've garnered here and there: the scout suit has a passive bonus to detection, which is why scout suits can see the red chevron even if that player isnot within draw distance.
if no one is looking directly at you, and you are not moving, you're indicator will disappear.

I don't like the indicators myself. However, I don't like spotting systems. People would be a whole lot more cautious and tactical, and work as a unit if you didn't know where everyone was. Personally, I think you should only be able to see the people in your field of vision. And if you turn your head you don't see them anymore. So you have to remember where they were, which direction they were going, and what route they were likely to take.
Luckily this game doesn't have killcams. That's the most hand holding thing Ive ever seen in my life. But like the little red indicators, and killcams, got to make the game easier for the kids. God forbid people be cautious and work as team and use some strategy. If it ain't easy nowadays it ain't worth playing apparently. |

yet to be released: active scanners... only a guess but i'd say its like a nanohive item that gets dropped, and lights up a large chunk of map with little red chevrons... welcome to the future!!! |

Stupid idea. In any clan/corp war you will be called out. Back to MAG... So there was this thing yeah, called a jammer, right? It stopped you showing up on the map. Which was cool. You used it 24/7 once you got it and stabbed people all day. It was great. Then you played a clan battle an everyone took off their jammers. Why? Because PROPERLY coordinated teams dont need a minimap. if I need to shoot you, I can't shoot the red arrow either. Btw wtf are you doing "sneaking around"? Immortal clone? Grow some militia balls! You don't need a red arrow on your head for me to spot you and call you out. Or come to you with my shotty.
Just my opinion. |

Have to agree, it really take from the hunting experience when you automatically know where everyone is.
I have a feeling the whole spotting system you find in most fps's these days are for those who don't use mic's, which there are a lot of. Which is a shame really, I feel the only way you should know whats going on outside your immediate area is through voice communication. Force the player to work with his squad and team or face the constant threat of being ambushed.
And kill cams!! oh how I hate them. I feel that they are the biggest hand holders in shooters these days, well that and over aggressive aim assist.

If we didn't have these red dots imagine what comms would be like.
Yes the sniper is on the hills to the east Which hill you know the one with the pointing hill and the path
We need grid overlays! Just to communicate better. Then we can eliminate those red dots over our heads,
Have them only show up when you you shoot or run, sound familiar? |

that and it varies for each of the four suits. and i believe the ranking is as follows
Scout - least signature Assault Logi Heavy - greatest signature
if you are a scout, it goes away as soon as you turn a corner or go behind an object instantly and if you are assault with command 5, it is almost the same, slight delay. At least that is my experience. |

This is the future, wireless communication between soldiers is the norm. Huds are a given. If soldier A sees you then you will damn sure be seen by every suit soldier A is connected to. Not being seen or pinged should require a significant investment in electronic equipment and skill. |

In any case, my style was to use a suppressed SMG with the sprint and cloaking duration mods and run full tilt around the map and gun people down from behind. |

I'm hoping for a cloak that is a piece of equipment, with unlimited duration, and no sprint. It would be balanced because you would have to have the equipment out before you could cloak, and you wouldn't be able to cloak with a weapon out. |

The skill to reach cloaking will probably be well buried, so I wouldn't worry about EVERYONE having a cloak. **** expensive, and if it's anything like EVE, they could make it impossible to fit on non-specific dropsuits due to PG/CPU demands.
Considering all the Dropsuit Modules are passive and the Equipments are Active, my money goes to Cloak being a peice of equipment. |

Without the indicator, you'll be having trouble looking for enemies. Don't let any enemies see you, because everyone are synchronize each other. What they see, you see. |
