Yeah well I just went 2/11 and it was a close match. And surprisingly I got 10, 000 SP?! Wow I was so proud of myself for if I went 6/8 I would have gotten 15, 000 SP. But that's my average Ambush match. Before the build I would get around 36, 000 SP in ambush.
Why must it be so low? I assume the people who go 23/0 get around 30, 000 then? I mean I'd love to play skirmish more (even though I lose and get around 10, 000 in those matches), but instant battle is holding me back...
Is there any faster way to get skill points? Because I'd love to buy skills faster without having to endure at least 10 deaths each match or so but it doesn't matter because even if I did well enough (i.e. at least 8 kills) I would only get 20, 000 SP.
Is this their way of extending the re playability in this game? (I assume those on the leaderboard play non-stop and max out their skill books within a few days). Because I need to rank up faster to buy those prototype guns so I can at least be on level with some people. I think I might resort to AUR and buy the Merc pack though.
What about you guys? how much do you get based on your scores? And yes, it is possible to get less than 2, 000 SP

No one is gonna run proto constantly, be economic in your fit choices or your a broke merc.
My bank sits on more isk then I have sp as a rule and thats 2.8 mil isk; it is possible to be rich in this game but not by running proto or adv even on any consistent basis. |

It is supposed to take a very long time to get lvl5 skills. Those that play it non-stop will receive diminishing returns on SP. Your first few matches will be the best. You play to play, don't grind. Specially in beta. |

Start putting nanohives on your fits and make sure to throw them down in places where friendlies are gathering. You'll get 10 points every time someone with less than full ammo walks though...makes a huge difference in your skill point gain. I've had rounds playing with a militia logi fit where I'm halfway down the killboard but received almost half of the available SP. |

Use you isk for basic skill that allow you to do things better for a broad range of things and run militia fits till you get used to things.

If you want to level up, do skirmish only. You can contribute to your team in other ways then just shooting an assault rifle. Place drop uplinks, and nanohives in safe places for your team to respawn when your losing objectives, nice way to get points. You should also hop in every tank and dropship you can. You'll get points for kills you didn't even make. And buy a 3- day booster pack, every little bit helps. |

I'm not sure how skill points are awarded but I average about 25,000 with some games in the 50, and 60's
Don't be afraid to get out of militia gear quickly , skill up your weapon first then get into a good suit, not to sound mean but its easy pickens on the new folks that don't run better gear quickly.

Thank you for your replies.
I didn't know helping out my team contributed to my end score.
I got my weaponry to level 5 before the wipe but I thought I should focus instantly on my Assault Rifle skills.
Wait it says you can purchase multiple skill books... does that increase the leveling? I assume not since it doesn't cost that much ISK...
The way I'm playing it is trying to grind, but I'm not doing very well. I guess I'm just a little upset that when I do my very best which is at least 6 kills it just doesn't return in my favor. But I suppose you're right and I should just play the game for what it is. |

Weaponry is good due to the fact it increases all weapons dmg so its good for everything. If you change your mind and find out something is pro this build it gives you breathing room before specializing. |

Run a logi with RR and a nanite injector and find yourself a well focused group to run with. You can still get 20-40k SP a match with that. |

I'm running all Militia save for a Charge Sniper Rifle, and I'm averaging about 30 or 40 SP a match. Best way to get more SP is to get a good KD, do objectives, and help your team by healing or picking them up. If you're squad leader, make sure to set orders so you can get commission, and also get your squad more points. |

Of course you will have plenty of isk if you sit there with a sniper. When you start getting into the thick of things militia gear just into upto the job most of the time. |

Honestly the easiest way I've found to skill up comes down to 2 things most important skill focusing dont skill up multiple things across the board get one skill to 4 or 5 then move on to the next(I say 4 cus at this point the extra sp to get to lvl 5 skill tht are 2x or higher isn't worth it for u with such little isk) and the second thing is running a heavy suit with my favorite weapon for me its assault rifles. so I ran around in a militia heavy with an advanced assault rifle and smg and a militia armor repairer and I've dun pretty well its slow running but 700 ehp is awesome for staying alive. Now tht I have a decent sp count I'm running a more mobile assault suit tht I use between objects and then if I die I spawn back hopefully on the new objective in the heavy suit and just tank everyone trying to reclaim the objective they just lost. My average k/d right now is probably 10/3 and I'm pretty happy with tht and I average around 35k sp per match. My best match so far won me 88k sp. |

Drop point spawns are 25 points per spawn. Putting one of those in a good spot can get you boatloads of SP. I did one round on the ambush map with the spiky rocks, where I put an uplink near the center supply depot and spent the whole match repairing people near there and plinking away at anyone who came too close with a tactical assault rifle. I got almost 80k SP for that match, which was about half of the SP available. |

Get the merc pack if you are considering it, it comes with a 30 day skill booster, like 50% increase or something. On start of day matches I get anywhere from 50-90k SP if the games are good.
And sometimes I have only earned a whopping 750 skill points, which then turned into 1100 or whatever lol, those games suck.... |

i noticed that there is something very important missing from these suggestions.
Use squad commands doing this will increase skill point gain considerably
on average it's a 25% boost with a few 50% boost to the points you normally get examples near a spot that has been marked by squad leader as Defend look that assist goes from 25 points to 50 neat that kill went from 50 to 75 oh i revived someone 60 to 80 so on and so on
