So far i think the game is reat. all the suggestions are being listened to and alot of them seem to actually be put intoo practice. Great job ccp. One thing ive noticed is that the LAVs are really hard to drive. Maybe its just me but its kind of difficult. When i run into something everythin starts flashin making it harder to see whats goin on.
Just what i would like to see is to make them easier to steer. Right now it reminds me of the bugies in halo how the vehicle spins so much.
Anyone else have suggestions ? |

Stop driving them. That's what I did. They only work in a straight line because the right analog stick controls the camera instead of what it should control, the steering. I still don't understand why you need a camera control to drive a car. The camera should always be behind the car.
Have you ever tried driving a car at high speed while looking over shoulder? No, why would you? There is litterally no need for camera control while driving. It doesn't help you at all, infact all it does is make you drive into walls. The tank controls are fine because it's natural for the right stick to adjust the turret, in the LAV the driver does not have a turret and therefore doesn't need to adjust the camera because all they need to do is look infront of them and steer properly and easily. Left stick = go, stop. Right stick = steer left, right. I won't get into another LAV unless I can map the controls because how they are now is ridiculous. |

LAV controls should just be modeled after Halo's warthog controls. Would make things much more streamlined. |

Never played Halo. I know that sounds stupid but I have never owned an Xbox. Looks like an awesome game and I would also assume (as I have watched Red vs Blue and know what a warthog is), that to drive a warthog you accelerate with the left stick and steer with the right? |

Aye. Basically, you have a little pointer in the middle of your screen, and it only moves when you move the stick. When you tilt forward on the left stick, the 'hog moves in the direction the camera is facing. Even if you hit something and do a full 180, you'll straighten out if you just keep holding forward. It's simplicity itself, and it works very well for fast, all-terrain vehicles like this as you don't have to work as hard to compensate for every little bump. |

What you described makes perfect sense. I think the only person that needs to move a camera is the gunner. Like you said: "simplicity itself". Kind of a no brainer really. |

I personally like the way you only use 1 stick to control the LAV. I always found it useless in other games to only take half of each sticks functionality. It is just the same thing to do it all with one stick.
That said it needs tweaking. Its far to easy to go full 180 when trying to take a turn. |

So when you drive a car you use one hand to steer and simultaneously accelerate? You must get in a lot of accidents. |

thats how gangstas roll... on another note... i agree with the camera following the frontal fov at all times with maybe a useless driving button (X maybe?) to glance in the rear view... maybe just give the frontal view a bit wider angle. and to use BOTH sticks for driving L-front/back R-left/right. and dont forget, never drive your automobile with just your thumbs. |

I'm pretty sure the reason the controls are that way is to allow people who play using PS Move to still operate the vehicles. As I understand it, when using the PS Move controls, you have only one thumbstick on your left hand. It would be difficult to steer a vehicle with your toy gun controller.
On that note though, I do wonder how it works in tanks for PS Move users. |

LAV controls are just fine, I have no trouble driving them and running people over except for the smarter players who jump over me, but I do agree, the camera shaking is a bit excessive... |

I have this to say on the matter.
I think the controls are perfect as they are. |
