If ccp is hell bent on making the dust 514 economy infrastructure so much like EvE online (which all signs point to that they are) then the game is going to have serious problems bringing in regulars! Since this is a console game, ccp needs to treat it as such! Also, while the shooter aspect has improved, n thats not saying much really, its still far from up to snuff. As a matter of fact its downright mediocre |

Pokey Dravon wrote:And what does that mean exactly? It means console fps'ers want to fit their loadouts by chronologically "unlocking" gear as soon as they possibly can so they can get out on the battlefield as quickly as they possibly can. The lethargic, methodical, rpg-ish pace, along with sharing an economy with ppl they dont care about;, along with those ppls resources and planets, isn't going to fly with the majority of console fps'ers. Along with the fact that they'll be better shooters out there= the game's woeful demise on console. |

Are you having fun? I am, and honestly it's stupidly simple. Dust is not complicated, sure there are a lot of systems to know, but they're easy to understand. You're going to be in the minority. The majority of console gamers wont care to sift through the economy and all that it entails in order to fit their character. Not in the 'instant gratification' console era |

The audience this game is targeted it is not by definition the majority of the FPS community (who are already catered for with with CoD et al) but is more likely to be the people who will play for years, contribute to the experience and, at least sometimes, will buy items from the he market place... with real money. Without those people, there would be no free game. if ccp "doesn't want a large number" then why bring DUST 514 to a console to begin with? Afterall, consoles are where the BIG money is, and can potentially be for ccp |

Not in the 'instant gratification' console era I just love how people seem to think console players are bunch of idiots screaming on CoD. Most people don't realize this but...a console......is actually a computer too. Shocking I know! Sp apparently console gamers are really not total idiots compared to PC gamers! GASP! Just because you spend more money on your machine, doesn't mean that everyone else has the attention span and IQ of a rock. Console gamers are far from idiots! Its just they dont care to get all wrapped up in economic intricacies of a video game, like dust 514 will present, Like hardcore EvE online players do usually. Console players are more about unbridled thrill n FUN factor! Which is awesome actually |

By large number I meant in terms of the multi-millions of people playing the big boxed FPS games on the consoles. CCP surely aren't going to want to appease people who want instant gratification at the cost of losing those who want to build their skill-sets and buy things from the market. You speak the truth |

This is the point i was trying to make! 'Instant gratification' is all the big bulk of the console community want! Its a relatively casual audience! Ergo, dust 514 will not do well on console. It NEEDS to be on pc n pc only |
