The new flavor of the month will be tanks with large missile turrets. All missile turrets still have infinite range while the forge gun has had a hard limit imposed that not even the sharp shooter skill can add to. The explosions knock forge gun aim off so much as to make even running heavy at all any more completely useless, IMO.
The one true loadout is emerging as a shield tanked Assault w/ Swarms, SMG, AV/Flux grenades, nanohive. |

That is an AV build, but one with a lock-on weapon that doesn't have to rely on aiming under fire and has no hard range limit. |

I won't be running heavy at all this build. Too much of an SP investment for too little return. Heavy weapon upgrades are 50% higher cost to train over Light Weapons. Might as well focus on swarms and maybe mass drivers instead.
I'll be focusing on Assault, Light weapons, and Sidearms. |

If they keep the Creodron nerfed, then they need to bring the price down.
The thing still puts out a stream of accurate sustained hip-fire. It may not be able to drop three proto's in one clip anymore but it still has a place, especially against scouts where spray and pray becomes necessary. |

Just to hammer my point home, that's not a God fit - It's THE only viable AV fit. Try aiming a forge gun while missiles are hitting your position and you'll see what I mean. |

Try aiming a forge gun while missiles are hitting your position and you'll see what I mean. i know exactly what you mean. i really only roll in a forge heavy if im not driving. if you put yourself in a position as a forge gunner where the tank can hammer you with missiles like that its usually your fault. again, this is from my own experience. As much as you complain about the flinch being unfair for heavies, who are you to say a tank should have to deal with a dropsuit tanking multiple missiles and still getting off an accurate 4k damage forge round? Dont stare at the tank in the face while you shoot it. I have found a plethora of ways to get shots off with my forge while maintaining the 6 second charge while not getting hit in the face.
Are you saying a tank should not only do massive damage but also be able to basically stun lock any target it's firing on by knocking it's aim off by 45 degrees? Really? |
