Ok Dust testers... I got a simple request; I am on 'vacation' (working my fiance's family vineyard but NOT in my hometown/at my normal job) and so I have NOT played Dust in like 2 weeks...
So will someone, ANYONE, EVERYONE, please post some of the the things they LIKE/LOVE about 'Phase One' of the Precursor patch/upgrade.?
Everyone agrees about what is WRONG, not many have said anything about what is RIGHT! I really feel that CCP IS TRYING AS HARD AS THEY CAN to bring us the BEST GAME POSSIBLE. And, as we all know (I hope) positive feedback is just as, if not more than, important as negative feed back.
It's balls early in the AM on Thursday the 16th... My girl is balls deep in Dragon Age: Origins (for the 3rd time in 2 years. At least she's a gamer...) If she gets tired before I get tired then I will be playing Dust in a little while, otherwise I will be logging in to the upgrade around noon tomorrow. In the meen time, PLEASE can we get a 'Hey CCP, we know you are trying and this is what we love about the current built.' thread going?

get her dragon age 2 for fucks sake... it's time.
and um.. AV grenades are pretty cool now? so there's that.
it's also another noticeable graphics upgrade.
and they added a little passive scan effect to your HUD. when you aim at someone it tells you what type of suit they're in and how much shield/armor they have. even enemies.
EDIT: oh, and salvage exists now. you can even rarely get stuff that's not available on the market. but since you can't SELL items, MOST of your salvage will just go to waste... so the salvage system is better than not having salvage, but it's mostly useless and really exacerbates the need for a secondary player market. (or at least the ability to sell stuff back to the npc market) |

Good things in the new build:
New Quarters! make it look just a bit customized.
Higher prizes increase the thrill of losing your equipment.
Random Matchmaking forces us to play all the Game Modes on all maps.
Mass Drivers are finally no Plush Ball Drivers anymore.
Weapon Balance feels okay for me now. We just have to wait till the wipe and all the stockpiled cash and proto equipment will be gone from the balances. Then we will see how it will work.
Increased prizes in the vehicle section make the vehicles feel like force multipliers... costly force multipliers. But feels good even when you are on the recieving end of the barrel. Not everybody pulls out a tank after each spawn anymore.
Oh .. and has Bad Furry stopped spamming music over voicechat as it is PTT now? I guess that's a good thing. PTT I mean ;)

SIDE NOTE: My girl had beaten DA:2 just as many times. My girl has beating all 3 God of Wars, both Bio Shocks, both Dragon Age games, Oblivion (to post game) Skyrim (to post game) Dante's Inferno, Venetica(sp?) Fable (all three) and Portal I and II. She kicks MUCH arse.
Sorry, OT I know, but she makes me happy on LOTS of levels. |

-They added salvage, which has the possibility to net officer mods. boo ya -Also, the maps are massive now and feel more lived in, as though they could actually be somewhere and not a map for the sake of shooting things. -They upped the prices on things, I see why they did it and things will level out, but I agree that something need to be done, it should suck to lose a tank... you should feel it in your insides when that baby you have brought with you for 5 missions and pwned noobs without number bets blown up by a bad ass with a forge gun and a couple lucky shots. -Logistics has been fixed to the point that not only is it a useful class but arguably the most fun. They made a more effective bleedout timer in order to make logi usefull. -I have found it take fewer total shots to kill someone now, that also mean fewer total shots to death, less CoD and more battlefield (don't flame for the name drop I am just using them as references as to how many bullets it takes to end you) which also makes tanks a level of scary that wasn't had before - I havn't been remote explosive that also happens to work like an "I win" grenade yet, which tells me they have fixed them. - the heavy battlesuit got a makeover, I think the others did too, but I rock a heavy or logi suit and they both look sexy now.
these were just the ones that made me nerdgasm just a bit, once they fix the freezing issue after dt tonight I am sure I will have a ball tomorrow
ps, logi is freaking sweet now, I said it before, but I had a blast playing one (even during assault game-type which admittedly is vastly inferior to skirmish) and I wanted to reiterate how fun they are now.

I'm starting to get used to it and its I like it. Its really fun and I'm havng to work harder to get a kill but its fun. I dont know what everyones complaining about the hit detection is working.. Everyone is playing as a team, the medic is now viable, you can revive people now and +60 for it. The graphics are way polished up the maps are new everything just feels new. The only thing I'm having to get used to really is the turning speed is higher so I'm learning to how to control my sights but its good. The shield now has to have a new mod to rehcharge quick but I'm adapting to it. It just got even more team based basically I can't explain it because I'm kinda drunk but is good and it's fun. The new maps are awseome. |
