FTFY
Because .24 USD is for a fully loaded Proto suit and if you are blowing through 10 proto suits a match it is time to re-think your spending habits. |

They really are making this a Pay 2 Experience Full Game type model. Not really P2W yet, but possibly headed there. |

like the skill boosters which really can put you in the lead.
Look, If I had a job and a wife and kids, and one day a week or every few weeks to play, I would use skill booster just to stay a little bit more in the game.
Sure, it can give even more of an edge to a no lifer like me that can sit on his or her ass and grind all day. But we are going to do that crap no matter what anything costs or how certain items benefit other players.
So you are advocating taking away an item that potentially benefits a lot of people with limited time, because you are worried that a small minority (those that will find any way they can to squeeze everything out of a game no matter what) might use it to get an edge?
And, again, for like the 8th time at least, unless something has changed since about this time yesterday, all items available will be available for ISK.
If you don't find an item you want in a few months time, hit me up. I will sell it to you. For ISK. If the market does not live up to this model, then we might have problem. But making assumptions about the entirety of the item market now is really moot. |

What you should realize, is that those numbers are for the sake of argument. Most people probably wont be stupid enough to go through 10 per game, but some may go through 1 or 2, and that still adds up over time and will eventually cost more than the average release.
Nice editing my quote, really says a lot about you. |

... ... WTH are they supposed to be used for? Why pay ingame when I can use Skype for free? What's the benefit? Yeah, I think they shot themselves in the foot with that one. "Yeah, you can talk to your friends in EVE!" "Oh cool, than" - "GIVE US MONEY FIRST!" I'm not seeing what this has to do with you though? Threads like these don't make sense to me being that you aren't forced to buy the stuff |

Threads like these don't make sense to me being that you aren't forced to buy the stuff No, you aren't "forced" to buy it, unless you want full functionality. Voice chat outside systems will probably be valuable in many ways. Lets say you're launching an assault on a corp that owns 2 systems, your corp is attacking 5 planets in each system, and you only have 3 people capable of providing orbital bombardment. You put them all in the first system, and will move one or two to the second system when needed.
So, the time comes for the move; a Dust player now has to find cover, open the chat interface, select the right chat box, type his message, and return to battle - all the while hoping his corp mate in EVE has the right chat box open, and that no enemy notices that he is very still at the moment. Very time consuming, very inconvenient.
You could just have voice comms open to your whole corp and say "I need orbital bombardment on planet X" without ever having to leave the battle. But they have made that a premium voice service now, so you have to buy it. |

Veigar Mordekaiser wrote: I know people who are long time players in F2P games like League of Legends, who have spent upwards of $400 because of this. They think "Oh $5 for a champion? No big deal", but then they buy 6 champions over the course of 6 months, and all of a sudden they're out $30. Say they bought a couple of legendary skins in that time, and that would be another $30. Buy a couple IP boosters to make a new rune page? $10.
I have spent close to 600 bucks on League of Legends. All champs, and all skins. Its just money! Money is useless, what you buy with it matters. I have been playing LoL since it was released, and STILL enjoy that game. Dust 514 is following a great model. You don't HAVE to spend money, and you can still do well and have fun. If you DO spend money, then that is YOUR choice, and you will probably enjoy that as well. When EVE releases personal skins for ships (most likely through micro transactions) I sure as HELL will pay for that. |
