Personally, they need to remove the entire concept of 'turn speed cap' for all input methods. Having a hard or soft cap for turn speeds really won't do much for balance, it'll just lead to endless complaints. If that Heavy can turn five times with the flick of his mouse/right stick and still has the personal control to HMG a Scout, by all means LET HIM. |

I actually think this is a good thing. This type of gameplay is already in 3rd person games like Gears of War and Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer.

Yeah, I don't use my entire desk as a mousepad. I agree on keeping it so the slightest touch forces you to spin endlessly though. As it is though 100% sensitivity isn't nearly enough, for me at least.

I'm wanting to play Dust less and less - KBM gimped to oblivion, new ways to suck on my wallet, exclusive P2P items. This build kinda just... sucks. It's prettier, but thats all it's really got going for it.

Longshot Ravenwood wrote:When you say "useful" I hear "the advantage I was looking for over DS3 players". Well, you're hearing me wrong. I don't like the DS3, and after about 5 minutes with KBM I unplugged it, and went back to my couch with a DS3. KBM sucks, outright.
Regardless, when it was announced back in february - "we want KBM to feel just like you're playing a PC shooter" (paraphrased). So basically, they said "nevermind, **** all those hopeful folks that we promised something awesome to, lets give them this half assed version so they're ****** no matter what control scheme they use". |

have you guys tried adjusting your mouse movement speed to match the rotate of the particular dropsuit you have? With proper sensitivity and movement speed, you might be able to get it within a smaller area, as long as you realize there is a rotation cap.
as for removing the cap, that was never promised for kb/m and it affects DS3 and move players the same. But yeah, I realize it's not a typical feel for a pc FPS. |

I think they should increase the strength of the DS3 aimassist in turn, letting mouse sensitivity higher. Or they might as well take out the KBM all together since it's useless.
Also hope in one of he next two parts they have keybindings cuz right now I'm not feeling enter as neocom and t to chat. Hope they implement m idea of chat on he HUD instead of having to stop the game to talk. Will incourage communication and teamwork even if you don't have a mic. |

But you can't alienate the core playerbase of the ps3. |

Oh god the quoting police has arived.
I am a kbm suporter, dont like much the DS3 controls especially with the crap hit detection the game usually have.
DS3 players cannot be allienated because of KBM, thats a fact. But, the responsivenes of both controls should be the same.
I disagree that kbm should not have a movement cap. It should, but this cap should only be imposed by the dropsuit, nothing else.

Lol at "alienating the core player base of the PS3". There are plenty of them that probably wont QQ about it at all. Besides, we know most of them are coming from arcade style shooters, and will probably find themselves playing HighSec matchmaking games anyway. Simple fix - don't make KBM users against DS3 users in HighSec. Go out to low/nullsec though, and I don't think there should be any limits impeding KBM. Either give players -good- KBM support that they will dominate with, or players will go buy a 3rd party device and get KBM another way, and dominate anyway. |

Personally, I've never been a fan of the insta-turn in most PC FPS games. Makes me feel more like a magic floating gun than a person in the game.
I do miss the fine aiming when playing on a controller, though. I guess nothing will be perfect when you're trying to cram control over a character's head, eyes, arms, and legs into the same two handed control system. |

so let me get this straight...... since it's not "instant 180" interface you wanted it's useless?
CCP told us MONTHS ago that turn speed was software capped and tied to the suit & skills - the gamepad guys ignored them because they were too busy screaming "OMG Overpowered turning HAX!!!!", while at the same time, it looks like a lot of the mouse & KB crowd were too busy dreaming of using the "OMG OP turn hax" to pay any attention to what we were told.......
No issues on my gaming mouse, although CCP probably should make so that on the fly DPI switching doesn't work - it is unfair to the console guys that I can press a button and get pixel by pixel accuracy, then push it again to move normal, while they have to go into options and adjust sensativity to do the same thing. |
