there is nothing like Dust. period. The only game that has stuff in common with it is EVE, and thats because a lot of the mechanics are transferred over.

The most this game has in common with other shooters is that you shoot.

Not sure if you understand what mechanics are....

economy, meta game(politics/corps/lore), simple style and look of the game, loss of fitting upon death, cutthroat set of hands-off rules and much much more....

dont get nit picky and say EVE isnt a fps, youll just be wasting your time.

Some mechanics from CoD are pretty good and it what makes the game so good, others are because its a quick game and should not be considered. Some mechanics from other games are good and others wouls be bad for a game we shouldnt discount other mechanics because it comes from the most popular game we should look at it and see how it fits into dust and should it be add for example using your sights good, kill streaks bad for a game like dust, of course all of this is subject to opinion but other stuff shouldnt be discounted simply because its from cod

Well, you said that there isnt anything similar to it but its core mechanics are exactly like every fps ever AND all that stuff you mentioned is similar to EVE.

I have feeling that ccp's goal for dust is to make it like call of duty in the same way eve is like world of warcraft.

And I would like people to stop using cod as the gold standard that ALL fps games MUST adhere too, I know thats not all the fps players here but I have been here for something like two days and I get the feeling that there are those here that hold that view.
