Has anyone heard anything about when the actual bpo's for dust weapons and vehicles will hit TQ? Or if they will ever take part of the mineral/manufacturing/transportation market? Currently our inventory and market place travels with us to any planet that we are fighting on and the bpo/bpc seem to mean something different than what it does in eve. If it is going to be just like in eve, then I hope that the bpo's are released before the dust market is connected to the eve market or those weapons will cost 10x the mineral costs.
And what will be going on with the meta level 2-4 stuff because this stuff normally doesn't have a bpo in eve, so no one will be making it. Maybe they will be LP bpc items only? |

From what we know atm... BPOs in dust will be very few and far between. They never liked how BPOs turned out on TQ, but there was no way they could change them without getting another riot. There's a very good chance that you'll never see BPOs in dust outside of militia items and the few entry-level merc pack/beta event items. |

I heard the rumor once. Not sure if true, but certainly, plausible. |

Indeed. I feel BPO's (Blueprint Originals) should be controlled. Obtainable through official events, or venues most likely with few "specialized" pacs in-between. Flooding Dust514 with BPO's would be a horrid error on CCP's part. Especially early on or within the first year especially. Also controlling the tech level would be best as well. Thus far the BPO's are impressively well balanced, and between militia grade tech, and standard tech levels. Which is where they should be I might offer.
Having BPO influences from EVE Online or the player base itself would be bad. Catostrophic even to Dust514's market and economy even. Anyway I could sit here and act like analyst, but that would be boring. Point is they need to keep BPO's to a minimum and regulated. |

I'm not sure what the earlier poster means about the perfectly functioning and logical bpo system from eve, unless he means the original t2 bpo lottery.
If you make everything based on drops or something as complicated as invention, noone will get into it in any real quantity, especially early on. Buy a bpo from an npc, build the base level product, is an rpg standard that's survived over two decades.
I don't see any issue with transplanting eve's system to dust, including the logistics of needing your gear with you on the barge (and limited per user space on the barge) when it leaves for the op.
As to named items, they said there will be PvE so that answers that: we'll get them the same way we do in EVE.
T2 can work via invention, just like in eve.
The real question is whether to and how much to allow dust players in on the industry side, and how. One thing's sure, managing research and manufacturing via the vita app would be awesome for eve players. |

This is what I am hoping to see
Meta 1: (Militia or basic items) BPO's with mineral costs Meta 2-4: No bpo's or bpc's, obtain through npc salvage Meta 5+: Loyalty Point bpc's and tech II invention (with best results from meta 4) (Yeah, I have no imagination)
Alot of the stuff we see is already meta level 8, which would mean it's a faction bpc or tech II item. We just don't have a system in place yet that reflects just how awsome those items really are (hard to make, costs a bit more, and limited supply)
Although as long as dust has a player driven economy, I don't really care what form or how they do it. The eve market rocks all other games imo (when I play other games, I'm always finding their auction houses and player economy sucking). So I believe that they can tweak it or keep it the same and it will still kick #$@, it just may take a year or so before they get to it because there are probably more important core gameplay issues to work and the instant buy now at any planet is a quick fix that works fine until they have time to focus on the economy game play. However, on each new build, I'm always hoping |

I dont reckon that bpo's will uave mineral costs. I get the impression that they'll be permament so that it makes it simpler to get into. |

Everything will have supply costs. What little BPO's there will be, will merely have the advantage of not having to pay for BPCs.
From another thread :
Nova Knife wrote: Eve players will not actually be building our guns. Our guns will be built using materials listed in the blueprints we buy. Currently, the materials is a hidden placeholder item called 'supplies' but should be expanding to a wider variety of items. Each time you spawn, some 'supplies' get used up to build your stuff. You probably won't need to worry about this for the hisec NPC matches as all indications are that the NPC corp will provide the 'supplies' as long as you have the blueprints.
For non-hisec corp battles, the supplies and clones will be provided by the war barge, meaning your CEO or whoever is responsible for the logistics aspects will be in charge of providing these for you.
