Since my previous thread got locked for no reason, I am reposting the fact that:
The glaring problems with hit detection is not even mentioned in the notes. Leading me to draw the conclusion that CCP would rather add Black Op Tanks instead of fixing one of the most basic, core gameplay feature of a First Person Shooter. |

In IRC CCP stated that hit detection has improved (at least slightly) and that they're constantly working on improving that mechanism. There's a lot that didn't get into the patch notes but that doesn't mean it's not there.
As a beta tester, I cannot base my opinion on hearsay, conjecture, and anecdotes. I will believe it when I see it or hear it from CCP. If CCP prefers to run its testing by having its participants guess about the features they fix, then I must say I am disappointed in the quality of communication. |

As fun as this beta testing phase is, do not confuse your role. You are a volunteer beta tester. You are not being paid, you are not a CCP employee and you are not part of any QA staff. In addition, you are not required to follow any testing procedures or fill in long forms. All you are here to do is "Play in as many different ways and try to break the game". Nothing CCP say or don't say impedes your task. Play and break the game. On a slighly different note, I do agree that having more information would be better but I also believe we've gotten very detailed patch notes.
I love it when self righteous *new* beta testers try to say whats on CCPs mind. I am stating a glaring breaking game feature. The game is broke and I am bringing that to their attention. |

If you where here for the previous build replication you'll find that the current e3 patchnotes are just as lacking. Maybe they got 6k posting limits too you know? improving gun play would fall under 'general bug fixes'
I've been here since April, the first round of beta invites after Fanfest. I have yet to see a major fix not get posted inside the patch notes. |

No mention 'communications skirmish was removed due to memory leak' is one case.
How do you know that was even the reason? |

Because value judgements on other people opinions aren't self righteous at all. He has the right to state his opinion without being attacked by you tbf. Yes some aspects of the game arn't perfect but its hardly game breaking. This game is not going to be your dream version of [insert console shooter released in the last 3 years here]. Sorry, its just not going to happen.
Not asking for dream version, I just want the gun mechanics to be better than Quake 2. |

on a side note...any mention of swarm fixes? You can join IRC as well, you know.
I'm sorry, I have a life and can't participate in a video game chat room 24/7 for news and updates. Remember, CCP isn't paying us to help them fix their game? |

Hit detection isn't completely fixed in the next build but it is a lot better. srsly? this is basic stuff for a fps to get right and 3 builds in and still not right? dafuq adding a bunch of new stuff and the main thing that will drive ppl away from the game isnt fixed yet........gg inb4itsabetacomments......i know its a beta, ive participated in many closed betas over the years for ps3 this is however 1 of the 1st things u get right...u know...that core fps mechanics...and its a bit worrysome that after 3 builds its still not 100%..... Stop trying to shoot people with guns. Just use a tank and drop 100 kills like a bawse.

I really appreciate that Nova, I know you do this stuff pro-bono but it would be nice if CCP put in a little more effort themselves. If my complaint is unfounded then I wish the patch notes would reflect that. I see no reason why CCP should defer the information from a simple forum post and put the responsibility on an unofficial community worker. |

Oh and they are giving us black ops tanks because orbital strikes will eat tanks up. They are after all, the only way to be sure .
You missed the point. Good try though. |
