Ok,,, so it's not quite important as hit detections etc, but before the launch please look at the use of the circle button to use things..... and also general menu navigation design..... I'm reporting this as an annoyance i've found (along with others i know) rather than a game breaking problem.
Circle Is fine for using turrets and vehicles etc, the problem comes with the menus. Since circle is ALSO the back button in menus, and the slowness of the menus in reacting to commands,,,, the mashing of circle to exit the menu quite often results in leaving the menu, then entering it again because its registered me as tapping circle once ive left the menu.
The marketplace also suffers similar problems. Personally i use the d-pad for menu navigations (not that the stick would make this any easier) and it just seems there's inconsistencies which part of the marketplace is default selected after clicking on something. Quite often i find myself exiting menus when I don't mean to, mainly because on the front page the selection starts on the main page, but when you tap left to select an option it remains selected on the categories rather than the main page. I think it would be far more intuitive if this didn't happen i.e you select a category and it automatically puts your cursor (so to speak) over the items rather than the menu.
Think that makes sense lol
As I said, frustrating,,, but not soul destroying....... Everyone ive asked has noticed this, and however harcore a gamer you are you always rely on muscle memory for certain actions, I bet you all get this problem!!!! |

I have a problem with it when I'm trying to respawn. After I make my selections, I like to check out the Players screen. If I hit the O button to leave that window, it also cancels my deployment and I have to reselect and wait again. Then the lady gets all passive aggressive on me :'( |

i found myself fat-fingering it as I'd go along too - maybe it's the button's placement - since it's near that point on the controller, using another button as a "confirm suicide button" might make sense? |

The only issue I have is that pressing O while inside a menu while spawning, cancels spawning. Same with opening the player list with D-Pad Down and then closing it again when I just want to scroll down the list.
Other than that, I have never yet had any UI problems where it opens after closing. Don't mash buttons like ADHD children. If you press it, the game will do it, just wait a second.
The whole button layout is very intuitive and convenient. I've not had any problems whatsoever with doing things since every situation has a button tooltip explanation if you wait a moment and look at the screen before mashing your face against the controller. |

Heheh, I'm used to the Japanese controls.
I've played a lot of MGS in my time.
I definitely agree about changing either the action button or the back button though. Having the same button react to a totally opposite function is unbearable. |

To clarify, i'm not sat here like im plating Chariots of Fire....... But deep in a vehicle mod screen im not gonna press circle once, wait for it to exit that, then press it again etc etc etc...... Most people at this point will just do circle 3 or 4 times at once to escape it asap,,, and if you press it too often still within menu screen, it'll still register it after,,, all i'm suggesting is a method to prevent that, as this is a common way of dealing with PS3 menus....
Circle cancelling spawn location is real frustrating lol,,,
I'm glad you have no issues with it, but the menu layout is not quite to the level that would be expected, since this is BETA i'm giving feedback so it can be taken into considerations. As I said, it's far from the most crucial thing to fix in the game,,, but it's something nonetheless

What's a vehicle mod screen? You mean the one where you call in vehicles? I'm pretty sure pressing D-Pad again cancels it instantly. Do you mean exiting flaming vehicles? That also always works after 1 press for me.....
Learning to spam a button multiple times until the desired result appears is bad. You should get rid of this ****** habit, which is caused by sloppy programming of games. |

while in MQ:easy fix which is already in the game.
just press L1 instead of walking around pressing O to activate everything just stand there hit L1 and you will be able to access everything that is in your MQ.
for vehicles: ive never had a problem with entering and exiting apart from when im trying to get in and certain areas on the vehicle are just like 'lol nope not letting you on." |
