From the moment you turn on your PS3 to the moment you begin playing in a match is about 5 minutes. That's wayyyy too long. I sometimes find myself interested in playing but then I think aw man then I gotta sit through all that stuff I can't skip. Should I just leave my PS3 on and Dust 514 loaded all the time?
Loading screens, intro screens, warning screens, update checksums, captain's quarters, selecting character, etc. Is there no way we can go right from the PS3 home screen to being in a random skirmish game with a pre-selected char? A shortcut of sorts.
Update: Mods, please move this to Suggestions. Didn't see that forum till now. Thx! |

First off, its a Beta so the load times to even get to your character probably will be shorter come Release. Once that happens I think this will be far less of an issue. |

I agree that initial load times are an issue. From initial start I clocked it at nearly 5 min myself. But I also agree that with it been beta the load times might be affected by things that have yet to be optimised. I am just patient with it and go grab a coffee or beer while it loads. |

The has been an influx of people like myself that have just got their keys. Maybe the servers are struggling. |

I completely agree. The intro screens with stupid videos should be skippable. That's a solid 1 minute of wasted time for every game launch. After I see it once, let me skip them by pressing the start button or whatever. Next up is auto-connect. Why do I need to press X to start connecting to servers? I launched the game, OBVIOUSLY, the only reason I'd do so is to play, so YES, I KNOW I am about to connect to servers.
Most loading issues would be mitigated this way. Let us launch the game. Come back after three minutes and then we'd only press X to confirm the EULA/NDA/Changelog, select character, load the quarters and bam. Right now you start the game. Walk away. Come back, press X. Walk away. And only then get the eula/stuff and load. It's too long. |

I clocked it at exactly 3 mins the other day from launching the game to being in the merc quarters.
With that said, it's acknowledged as an issue of this build in the build notes. Maybe it'll be better when the next build releases in the near future. |

I can play the game after about 40min. to 3hrs. of loading, and no one is giving a **** (nvm), don't whine please. EDIT: Naa te found a fix, thanks,
I heard that the next build will get better loading times.
Again, is there anything remotely resembling a debug console for dust514? I would like to know why it takes me in average 2 hours to get online. |
