Aside from all this, I was jaded by the hit detection when I first tried this game because my expectations were so high (I've been following since DUST was first announced), reminded myself that it was beta, and marched on because this game has so much potential and devs have acknowledged these known issues.
Also PS: thank you, thank you, thank you for removing all sway from sniper rifles after a shot. And, even though I wasn't going to say anything about it, thank you for adding randomness to the initial scope sway because I had already realized how easily I was going to be able to compensate for it once KB&M support was added. |

As a dedicated scout/sniper I haven't had much issue with hit detection, althought I've certainly had shots that I felt should have hit, but most of these were at moving targets and I attribute it either to a failure to compensate properly on my part, or latency issues. The bigger problem for me has been the collision lines of objects not matching up with the visual model, causing me to hit them and not my target. |

Hit detection is largely an issue with the crappy test servers we are on right now, and some other things need tweaking. But in my experience I would say Dust already plays just as well or better than CoD or BF - both games feel very unrefined to me. |

As someone who uses forge guns I can say there is a problem with hit ditection mostly at times where I aim at a tank point blank and the shot doesn't register. |

Small missile launchers have different stats with proto obviously doing the most damage, large ones however show all having the same stats with different fitting requirements and testing seems to have confirmed that.
That is better smalls aren't more precise to aim but they do have larger splash radius which obviously means that you get more hits. |

I've shot a lot of scout suits standing still in center mass or hips and theres been no hit registered. There IS a problem with hit detection. |

Ive fired 4 mass driver shots into a heavy with the projectile animation hitting the body. No explosion, no damage.
As a scout Ive shot an assault suit guy with a proto sniper rifle and a 10% damage mod nearly 10 times with no effect.
Ive had several encounters where people have tried to shoot me and emptied entire clips into me and I haven't moved and I took no damage.
Its not a myth, because Ive experienced. I have no reason to lie.
Your post is the poison that will kill this game. Please stop. |

no there is definantly some issues with hit detection, and they are most obvious when firin at a stationary un manned vehicles with a fully automatic weapon..... i will say tho, they are not that common and i wouldnt go on a rant about hit detection, CCP knows whats up and theyre doin a damn good job fixin it so far, i dont know if youve ever made a video game before so you cant complain about how fast they fix these problems |

I've been having a lot of problems with hit detection. Sometimes I miss and get a little 'x' on my screen. Sometimes I hit them and I do no damage, and I know I'm hittin them because of the sparks that come off of enemies when you hit them. Also sometimes I hit them, the sparks do come out but no 'x'. Not sure if hitting them unit they get closer and I can see from the health bar that they were getting hit. So ye there is a definite problem with the hit detection. |
