EVE players who play DUST are console players.
Non-EVE players who play DUST are console players.
There is no way around it--if you are playing DUST, which is only available on PS3, then that means you have a PS3 on your house and are playing at least one game on it.
I doubt very many EVE players bought a PS3 just for DUST, so most people probably have at least a few games for PS3. I would imagine most people playing DUST have at least some interest in FPSes also, otherwise, they'd just say "that's nice" and keep playing EVE.
So please stop this "EVE players vs console players" nonsense. It makes about as much sense as "baseball players vs people who breathe air".
There will be people who disagree about things: allowing mouse support, overall movement speed, etc etc, but stop making this some sort of PC vs console battle when a few moment's thought will tell you it's not. |

I for one barely play games on PC anymore and my EVE account isn't active. I still consider myself an EVE player, though, because I keep up with news and will probably resubscribe once I take a break from it for a while.
I have a PS3, a Vita, a PSP, a DS, a Gameboy advance SP, an NES, a SNES, a Super Famicom, and a Wii. I used to have an XBOX 360, but sold it. I play console games much more often than PC games these days. I am clearly a console gamer.
I've been playing FPSes since before the term "first person shooter" existed. I've been playing them since they've existed, about the early 90s. I've played tons of them, mostly on PC, but several on console as well. So I'm a FPS player also.
I think I may have heard some heads explode as minds were blown, but hopefully everyone else can realize that we have more in common than not. No matter what our background, we're showing interest in and playing the same game on the same platform and we all hopefully want the game to be the best it can be. |

If you really must have an us vs them thing going on, then at least this one makes sense.
DUST is part of the EVE universe, though, and will be integrated. CCP have said that they think of DUST as being a specialized client for EVE, since it will connect to the same server cluster.
I think of it more as EVE universe veterans and EVE universe newbies. We're both in the same universe, just some people came at different times and through different ways. We're all newbies to DUST itself, though. |

Uh...what? Did you read my post?
I"ve owned consoles since my NES in the late 80s, and I also have a SNES and a Gamecube and a PS2 and a PS3 and a Vita and a PSP and a Wii and a Gameboy Advance SP and a Super Famicom and a DS and will soon be buying a 3DS. I used to have a XBOX 360.
I've been owning and playing consoles for over 20 years (I don't remember exactly when I got my NES, but I'm thinking like '87 or '88)
Oh, and I still have my NES and it still works, so I don't have to miss it. I played Super Contra on it earlier this week, actually. |
