I don't see why people think it's so bad that Dust will have KBM. Have you ever tried plugging a mouse and keyboard into your PS3 in XBM? You know what you can do? You can control the PS3, with a mouse, and a keyboard. It works, perfectly fine. This is not CCP adding KBM to the PS3, it's just them making a function that is readily available on the PS3, available in game as well.
The PS3 is in fact a computer, the only difference between it, and the Windows/Mac PC's people play EVE on, is that it has a different operating system. That's it.
I don't understand why people have this major issue with using the superior controls for FPS games. "Oh no, KBM is better than my dualshock, I'm gonna ***** and moan about how it's not fair to have it included in this game." I have a news-flash for you all - everyone can use KBM! That's right, it isn't limited to only a few players!
If Dust didn't implement KBM as a natural control option, I would've ordered myself an Eagle Eye, and I would be using KBM anyway. Honestly, I'd rather have it available to everyone, than know that the only reason I'm winning is because I bought an Eagle Eye.
Edit: For the record, I've been a console gamer all my life. Started on the N64, then the Dreamcast, Gamecube, Xbox, Xbox 360, and now, my PS3.
The majority of my PC gaming was GunZ: The Duel for a few months(TPS), then WoW, StarCraft, EVE, and League Of Legends. I am by no means a "PC Elitist" as I have been labeled a few times on these forums. |

And they do have a better control scheme. Do you not remember that one game where you could play with PC gamers on a X-Box. Who always won. Guess. The PC gamer due to the fact they had a Mouse and Keyboard. It's not limited to a few players, but people on ps3 don't want to learn how to use a KBM just to compete with the people already used to it.
And yes I used to play with a mouse and keyboard as i used to be a PC gamer. The fact of the matter is, most players that want to be "Hardcore" and actually involved in the spreadsheets, and politics, and economy of the EVE universe, are probably going to be the ones using KBM. The ones that want to casually play for rankings on the leaderboards, will be the ones using a gamepad. This is a generalization, possibly a stereotype, but it is relatively accurate and there is no arguing that. There will be exceptions to this.
Now, what does that mean? Well, the spreadsheets, and politics, and economy, will largely be in Null-sec, so all the "Hardcore" KBM players will be out there, fighting wars, and negotiating, away from those on the gamepad. Sure there will be some gamepad users in Null-sec, but I would be willing to bet they will be all of the Pilots - tanks, dropships, jets, LAV's - as vehicles are much easier to control with a joystick vs. WASD.
The gamepad users, will be in High-sec where they have already announced that a match-making system will be in place, so high skill (rank?) players will not be matched with low skill (rank?) players. All of the players that are using KBM in the match-making games, will probably be rated much higher than the gamepad users, and as such they will not generally get placed together, and this wont be an issue. Assuming of course that the match-making system works, and isn't absolutely random like in CoD.
Low-sec will probably be a bit of a melting pot.
Each control scheme will find a home in this game, and if CCP has to gimp KBM to help it find it's home, I will be very disappointed - mostly in the community, but partially CCP. |

I have made this argument/observation/point several times here, most people just say "QQ KBM OP" or "Doesn't matter, go back to PC", or some BS along those lines.
Edit: Hi-Sec might as well be a casual game server, there is no persistence or importance of war involved there. It's really just for "questing" (NPC contracts) and fun. |

Yeah, that would be the main problem I have with making points on these forums. |

The only real limitations I can see are those brought on by a lack of available coding parties, and "shiny" graphics (meaning the limit of how much can be visually rendered at any one time). I think he has mistaken the differences between PC/MAC, and consoles, to some how hardware related, rather than OS related.
