It could also be the sound of the helmet shattering. |

MAG's headshot sound reigns supreme but that sound would suffice :) |

It won't hurt adding a headshot indicator and sound.
Same as seeing someone died with the killer's weapon. Only difference would be "BOOM HEADSHOT!". |

Hey, this thread's back...
I still like the idea of a headshot indicator.
And I've thought of an explanation for a different sound.
SENSITIVE ELECTRONICS GO IN THE HELMET. Your head is where they attach all the cameras, and where all the screens have to go, because even though we're genetically enhanced clones, we're still (mostly) human, and we still have eyes in the normal places, and not anywhere else. Well, most of us do, anyway.
So obviously, lots of full 'lectric bits means a different sound when you get your head exploded.
Logic has been found, idea has now been officially +1ed by me! (sorry I took so long) |

I approve. Really, there isn't much feedback into what we are doing in this game. Headshots need more feedback along with many other things. |

Still would like this. I want to hear the sound of the sensor equipment shattering. Moar immersion!!
This would go great with these ideas also.
KAGEHOSHI Horned Wolf wrote:The sensors and cameras are located in the helmet, so when one is mortally wounded by a headshot, the sensors and cameras should be damaged. This should result in distorted vision as well as noticeable cracks on the HUD while laying on the ground. This would be good for immersion, but also would be a good way to find out that you died from a headshot. The distortion could look like this, plus some cracks. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=50821&find=unread |
