You've all done this. Jumped off a tower, falled out of a high flying dropship or whatever other way you used to start a freefall. Most of you have probably pressed X as fast as possible to enable the Inertial Dampener. But what happens before that? Before that we are basically freefalling exactly we people do when they skydive before opening their shutes. And that's where it's different. In proper freefalling from high altitudes, people can move around a bit and play with the aerodynamics. I can bend my body in a way the propels me in a certain direction and thus target myself to somewhere on the ground.
In Dust that doesn't exist. Even before hitting X I'm just falling down with no way of targetting myself of moving in any way. CCP, could we please have a proper freefalling mechanics engine implemented. It would help tremendousley and make freefalling an actual viable tactical move. Today it's very limited and rather random in its outcome. |

could help if they implement droping in as a spawn option. |

You can move (slightly) in freefall, before hitting X. I've managed to land on roofs after jumping out of a dropship, starting slightly off-target.
I'd like to see more movement, just to build on what's already there. |

weight, distance, gravity, suit mobility these factors can easily counter ur claim :P |

I like this. I'd love to be able to actually use something like that, such as jumping off a high-altitude MCC. |

Buy a Dropship when you spawn. 3. Fly up to and land on the MCC. 4. Drop Uplink (I wonder why they're called "drop" uplinks... Maybe because you "drop" them? ) 5. Jump off MCC. (let someone else take the boring way down (Dropship) |

I'm all for active freefall, and for being able to spawn in a MCC and jump out/off when I want.

+1 although i still would preffer that if your controling your fall you suffer huge accuracy penalties. |

I usually dont hit x untill the last possible second otherwise people see this huge ass cloud of energy falling from the sky.
Really easy to spot.
Theres a bug where some times you fall with out going into the sky diving position, which makes it harder to judge when to "pull the shoot." thats a greater thing that needs to get fixed. |

Thank goodness someone brought this idea up. I would love the ability to control where i fall before using the inertia dampener. |
