What is the Fast Emergency Extraction Kit?
Its an equipment that allows you to shoot a rope to a nearby Dropship to get hauled in without the dropship needing to land in the midst of hilly terrain or fiercest firefights. To give another example: Its like the rope in just cause only with autoenter and without the stunt position.
Sounds OP!
The rope has a finite length, you can't controll the up / down moving (so if you have to get into the ship before getting on ground again), you are in a perfect position to get rammed by other dropships / shot by others while getting hauled in, defenseless as you are.
Sounds useless!
Well of course there has to be a ram-loving dropship or a versatile shooter out there fast enough to quickly aim and shoot / charge at you while you're being hauled in, the time you need to get hauled into would of course depend on the height you have to travel to said dropship.
How about skiing using some hovercraft-like board and the rope?
Would be cool but imho useless and wouldn't fit into the game - has such a UT3 ring to it (which is a great game but thats not the point) - whereas the "ninja-rope" might actually work pretty good.
Wasn't this mentioned in IRC some time ago?
Yes, sorry, my fault, i forgot to post the feature request, just remembered. . .
Thanks for your time. |

I'd use it if there were more slots and the price was right. Oh it also needs to aim correctly. |

should be fired from the dropship and function as an electromagnetic rail system so it doesn't take away your extra weapon slot. the pilot should also have to keep the rail from breaking on a structure. |

Maybe as a Dropship turret module?
But then you'd need at least one man at the turrets . . . hmmmm . . . |

For some odd reason I had a vision of a dropship slapping a cable on a murader and taking it out for a short training exercise on how to be a wrecking ball. |

well that would be indeed a pricey wrecking ball OO
But should those tiny cables be used for thick heavy vehicles like tanks? i think to transport those you'd need special (as in more expensive) modules . . . |

Thats the idea, no skiing using whatever ground vehicle or entering enemy dropships just get into a Dropship thats flying two metres too high to get into ^^
yeah the suits are heavy but they are also heavy when you are inside the ship so i dont really see a problem there. |

Would be a cool idea in any other game with another background. Seems kind of pointless in dust.
The point of escape is to preserve your life. Clones don't live very long anyway due to radiation sickness. You are essentially immortal, you can escape by shooting yourself in the face. Rendering escape technologies a waste of resources. |

Okay looking from another point:
-Every death on your immortal soul causes you to lose isk (which can be quite a blow for some). -What if you need to overcome a certain (reading huge) distance to get to your next objective with no spawn nearby and your friendly dropship pilot started the engines without you aboard? -Every death counts (if you're attacking at skirmish or playing ambush) towards your team losing, so preserving life does make sence.
On another note: This does make as much sense as in every other game at least, because other games don't have something like a face for your warrior. You're playing just a random, replacable guy, whose death won't cause any mourning |
