Greetings,
Pod pilots will also need a way to blow your pod up while it is still in space.... Like while you are trying to get through their 85K EHP shields. Anything else is really unfair to the pod pilot. Pod pilots, based on your own ideas would have to rely on NPCs, and NPCs that can be subverted at that. No, the Pod pilot should be able to shoot down your undefended pod while you try to get through their shields. |

For the first couple of weeks, I had the AI set to low, then a few weeks later it was on medium.... Within a month I was taking out the highest AI NPCs that the game supported, was soon going 40 - 60 Kills per 2 - 4 deaths.... Thinking I was going to go the PvP side and ROFL Stomp people, I jumped into a low level game and got immediately spanked... Not once, but for the next two weeks. About a month later I was regularly ranking in the top 3 players in each battle and consistently i the top 4 for my team. I went back to the NPCs and was getting around 40 - 60 kills per 1 - 2 deaths.
I told you all of that because I suck at FPS games. I am averaging about 0.7 kills per death right now, but I was walking through the best AI NPCs that game had to offer. If I were able to get that good taking out NPC mercenaries will be trivial for good players. In EVE, we have had multiple examples of this when CCP introduced the sleepers... Initially they were steam rolling players, but a few short months later, players were soloing them in WH space. Dust bunnies will be no different.
No, Dust bunnies should not have the ability to invade a player's ship without the player having some active defences to keep said bunny out.... And even then, Dust bunnies should be limited to enaging capitals and super capitals only.
Quote:the merc cannon can miss, and you may just end up flying out into space and eventually dying. the cannons themselves are what the eve players shoot at, and if they are destroyed you lose a lot of isk. That will only work if the cannon is a stand-alone vehicle or an anchorable structure.... If the gun is part of a ship, then there is no mechanism in EVE to target it as we do not have pin-point targetting in EVE. Losing a lot of ISK is something that you obviously don't understand about EVE... I am one of the poor people and I only have about 1B ISK.... There are alliances out that they regularly spend 40 - 50 trillion ISK for Titans.... Next is that there is a massive industrial sector in EVE. pod pilots will demand that they be allowed to build these cannon fodder and then they will research them to the point that they are basically building them at cost. |
