Check how many of each item you're using in total across all your fittings. Buy each item in multiples of that number.
Problem solved, by simply paying attention to what you're doing.
More hand-holding isn't the answer. |

More hand-holding isn't the answer. I said it's a pain to manage you half-wit. Not that I don't know HOW to. FFS. Being a jerk on the forums isn't the answer. ...and hand holding? Pff... go back under your rock. Well you obviously don't know anything about EVE.
Welcome to New Eden. Good luck. |

No it isn't.
There's no good reason to do this, and it would cause problems for people who want more freedom to use what we bought when trying to be more careful with our ISK, so it's a bad idea. |

Velexia Ombra wrote:The good reason to do this, is so if I say, specifically choose to restock a specific fitting to a specific number, that I can be guaranteed to have that number of that fitting regardless of what I do with my other fittings. It makes perfect sense. If I don't want to accidentally spend too much of my precious(?) isk, I can, I don't know, not restock a whole fitting, and instead stock whatever specific item I want extra of... for whatever reason. And the good reason NOT to do it is that if I want to use a fitting with a particular model of SMG that I've only restocked via a specific fitting that also has that SMG on it, and which I've OTHERWISE run out of, I would have to buy more even though I potentially have 50+ of that item in stock.
I'd rather have to do a little bit (and it's ONLY a little bit) of micro-management, and have the game actually let me use all my gear how I want.
If it wasn't going to cause more problems than it solves, I'd say you had a good idea. But it's not a good idea, so I'm telling you that it's not a good idea.
I'm sorry you don't know what trolling is. |

Lets look closer at those two different fittings that only share a single weapon, shall we?
I restock that fitting which ran out with 50 new guns.
Then the other fitting runs out of the weapon. But I have 50 of the same gun that I ran out of. I can't equip them on the fitting I want to use, though, because they're locked into the fitting I restocked earlier.
I have to either go through several pages of menus to re-assign those stocked guns to the fitting I want, or buy more of that weapon even though I already own 50 of them.
If you're running out of gear you want to use mid-match, then you're not managing your money or your fittings effectively. That's not the game's fault. That's your fault.
And it's not a lot of micro-management, it's a TINY amount more than you're asking for.
Your suggestion would require HUGE changes to the back-end operations of the game. Leaving it as-is works just as well if you're even remotely competent and not an idiot, and doesn't take much work to deal with.
Also, if you want a GOOD solution to your "problem" all they need is a "full restock" function which ignores current stock of items and buys X amount of everything in the fitting. THAT would be a good way to reduce the micro-management. |

Velexia Ombra wrote:^ That last thing you said? That's what I am talking about. Now that you formulated it all on your own, maybe you can stop acting like a tool, and get with the picture, yeah?
In the current setup, the other fitting doesn't run out until it's used up ALL of your guns of that type. But when it does, it makes all fittings that used that weapon invalid. In the proposed setup, the other fitting runs out when it has used up it's own stock. You are building a strawman argument by suggesting that items in a particular fitting are "locked away". I don't ever recall making that suggestion. Nice try though... Well, no it wasn't. If that last thing I said is what you were TRYING to say, then I agree.
But it's DEFINITELY not what you were ACTUALLY saying.
Full restock option where you buy X amount of every item in a fitting DOESN'T guarantee that you won't run out by using that same gear on another fitting. Your suggestion would.
Here's a quote from your OP:
Quote:Wouldn't it make more sense if each fitting had it's own stock? That says exactly what you're claiming you didn't.
And no, it WOULDN'T make more sense to limit each purchase to a specific fitting. |
