Well you can also think if this way: 1 kill is 50 points 1 assist is 25 points 1 turret death is 100 + 25 (death+ damage) + 50 from gunner if any 1 successful hack of a b or c is 100 points 1 hack of supply depot what ever is 50 points 1 tank / drop ship kill is 100 + 25 points + crew on board x 50
So you have to kill 2 guys for each object that you successfully hack (if several hacking it's divided up to 25 points). Hence it pays to stay with you team not just because you might actually hack anything but because you will likely get more that way then trying it alone. |

My K/D is about 0.33 right now.
Are you making yourself useful to the team? Hacking objectives, taking down vehicles or forcing them to retreat, making enemies hold back from objectives that have been hacked (you don't necessarily have to kill for this), repairing/reviving teammates, etc. are all valid ways to support the team WITHOUT giving you a good K/D stat.

At this stage, since I'm clearly no good at run and gun with my peashooter, I'm focusing on what I feel and work like and skilling towards a big, slow fella who focuses on taking out vehicles, or getting into them. Or heading away to the borders of the conflict to start hacking whatever I can when I notice we're losing ground. At least to begin with, this is a HUGE important piece of advice. Weaponry is pretty much the only universal "must have" skill when you're first starting out. Maxing it out gives you +25% for EVERY weapon you use (the Nova Knife MAY be an exception to this, but I think it buffs this as well). Anything else will, to some extent, depend on your build. Other things are important, but nothing else will be as universally important.
Some other good skills to look into are Mechanics (passive armor buff), electronics and engeneering (passive cpu / pg buff) and there are 2 shield skills that passively give you a better recarge rate and more shield hp as well. Those skills will help you get the most hp out of every suit and the ability to get the best fit on it. I'd level them all to 4 before grinding them to 5 (going from 1 to 4 costs just as much sp as going from 4 to 5 on the same X1, X2 exc skill type)
Also buy one of everything you are able to equip in the market so you know what all of your options are when you are making a new fitting. And above all always remember it's ok to run away, you don't need to finish every fire fight. Go around the opposition and shoot them in the back / side because you don't get bonus points for letting your target fire back. With all the proto guns being used right now even if you fire first you will probably loose so save the fair play for when you are on equal footing. |

When I aim at someone, its like I hardly hit them at all and they kill me in just a matter of seconds. I guess this is just no my thing. Compared to the players that get 20+ kills to just a handful or less deaths, I am completely useless. Quite depressing. Get in my tank.
THAT! I created a new character this weekend and swore to myself that I was going to use militia gear save up all my SP to drop it on a proto suit with proto gear... yeah... I've had my @$$ handed back to me so many times I created a hand receipt for it. Got minimal SP too.
Get into someone's tank/dropship. It may take you a bit to get used to leading your targets but you will eventually pick it up. The first game I played where I got into a dropship, I went 21/1... with all militia gear. Got 190K SP (-ish) and 300K ISK (also -ish). Second game 18/0... in a tank. Once the 1M SP reward is added I'll be able to train my proto suit and most of my proto gear. |

I like gunning for a good gunner or pilot. Tip: your driver/pilot is giving you a hint when they land or come up to an enemy held objective or item - jump out and hack that sucker!
In dropship ideally (IMO) someone who is not gunning, but is along for the ride, should hop out to do the hack job. In a tank if it has a full crew then the bow hull gunner should be the one to do it, while the driver/tank commander and the top secondary gunner cover them.
If im the bow hull gunner on a tank i'm always the one who hops out and does the hack (of course, if there's another friendly around they sometimes hop in the tank as soon as i get out to hack, lol.
Keep an eye on the shield and armor readout of your vehicle - if its gonna blow then time to get out of dodge and clear of the vehicle, especially if the vehicle cant get to safety to repair, be aware! ;) |
