So i have around 25mil in SP run full proto gear every round and current fitting is just under 70k ISK so 3 deaths and i could make a loss or small profit
So i had the merc pack and 4000 AUR to use but i never did look at AUR items tht much
I knew milita items had higher CPU/PG requirements when compared to basic so how would ISK items compare to AUR items
Well AUR items are very ******* good to put it bluntly
The majority of the shield/armor and weapon damage mods are better than ISK items, take the complex shield recharger mod 90CPU requirement, its AUR equivalent is 60CPU so 30 CPU less which is a big diff
It seems the same with other mods with the top end AUR items being on the requirement CPU/PG level of enhanced ISK mods
So i bought all AUR items which are the equivalent of my current ISK setup
The AUR items left me with more CPU/PG overall so i could actually upgrade other parts of my setup like grenades/sidarms or change my rigs
Compared to my ISK proto fit my AUR proto fit is actually better to use and helps me survive more and do more while also saving lots of isk and not capping out my CPU/PG
ISK proto fit = 70k AUR proto fit = 35 AUR including suit and 500 ISK, if i dont bother with the suit its basically 25AUR and 60k ISK
The only items where ISK seemed better to use than AUR is the drop uplinks i think which to be frank is poor
Atm if you have money to convert into AUR and already run full proto with ISK items then AUR is a good way to go to save up ISK but also AUR items allow more room for upgrades and customisation while not really making you choose between things because the CPU/PG you save with AUR items is damn good
Now if ISK can be converted into AUR at some point then pay to have an advantage it wont be but if it does stay like this then AUR items overall do give a better advantage when compared to ther ISK counterparts

Actually AUR items do not offer much in the way of an advantage, and again in the end it costs real legal tender to obtain. All it does really is offer a quick fix to those whom are unwilling to wait a level or two for the next gear set.
Stand AUR equipment is equal to advanced, advanced AUR equipment is equal to proto, and proto AUR items only offer decreased CPU (Central Processing Unit) and PG (Power Grid) consumption which can be obatined anyway again through skilling. Which again is not an advantage to say the least. It really is just a gimmick for CCP to use in making a profit while allowing those whom are either impulse buyers or too impatient to obtain an item that they will nonetheless obtain once skilled up.
I have my four thousand AUR and as posted by someone else I may only use it as bargaining, or for skill boosters. Actual depletable battle items are not worth it.
I have max skills in electronics and powergrid with all support skills with shield and armor and my guns to max
The ISK items max out my PG nearly and i always need more CPU
With the AUR items i dont need to use a CPU upgrade at all and i easily have PG left over
So you are wrong skills do not make up the difference and niether do iteams since my AUR fir can do more than my ISK fit |

Sure maybe one aur item to help a tight fit. But that's it, if you have all aur gear your a dumbass wasting money. You could have the same stats with prototype gear and just the aur gun. Giving you the space u need. But even then use the ISO credible and drop the remote mines. Or use a CPU mod, which kick ass btw.
Why would it matter in a gun fight who has more unused fittings? Good lick with your lol fit, I'm sure they will luagh when they get the killmail.
Such a moron

Mainly, their skill requirements and making the PG/CPU lessning modules less effective than the ISK variants, giving you the choice of 'Easier to fit with less effect' or 'more effect, harder to fit'.
All id be happy with is being able to buy AUR with ISK tbh

.. Mmkay. Of course you know there should never be a way for you to use every proto item available at once. Ha-ha, but whatever. Glad someone wasted enough time to find this out.
On the side though this reminds of the MAG complaints about people being unable to squeze every high-end peice of equipment onto their build. Ha-ha.
I still stand by my personal opinion. AUR items are not worth it, and offer no real advantage. If people want to purchase them so be it. Have fun wasting real legal tender. Depletable nonetheless.
It would be worth it if your willing to throw money at the game
I really just wanted to see the difference between ISK and AUR and its a difference i could use now n again

All id be happy with is being able to buy AUR with ISK tbh Hm. Well I can see people trading AUR for ISK, but I can also see sometime down that road CCP intergrating some converstion ratio for those willing to lose ISK for a smaller amout of AUR. It would be like trading the (USD) for say the legal UK pound. You'd lose money so to speak. Iffy example I know, but it would sort of be cool to see some form of economic converstion that changes daily like those between legal world tenders.
Be intresting tho if you could manufacture the AUR items aswell in EVE and sell them for ISK which is another route they could take |

As AUR items? Sometimes they seem like it due to the lower pre-requisites, and lower consumptions may sound nice, but at the cost of legal tender? Not so much. Granted I come off as a hypocrite seeing how I purchased the "mercenary pack". However I have yet to use the AUR at all. Even though it will be granted back to me at launch, or upon state-wipes during the [beta]. Also I have not even used my skill booster. Ha-ha. I just find it to be more fun to see how I can max out what I have available then otherwise. I'm constantly pushing my CPU and PG limits to what will fit. However I also realistically expect their to be limits.
Thats where my AUR came from, merc pack
4000 AUR prob gives me 100 suits tbh or 150 fittings without the suits so can easily last a beta weekend but over a week its pushing it so come release il end up using it on boosters but also it may have all changed and i can manufacture them instead |
