I was wondering what are customization should be like for our dropsuits. I think that it should be based on Warhammer 40K space marines. They allow you to color, add design, and change every tiny piece on the armor. Anyone else think it should be like that? |

Probably not going to happen for a very long time due to memory constraints - that's why there's no variation in the vehicles between their tiers. |

Ill just be happy for when it goes live if we can pick a different color for our suits...maybe an insignia...getting kinda tired of seeing blue...faded blue...a swamp-like green. |

Given that the game is built on the same engine as Transformers: War for Cybertron, and that game had pretty decent customisation, I have to say that I'd like to see a decent level of visual customisation myself.
But because of the scale of the game, it's not going to be quite on that level - and that was slightly more simplistic than Space Marine's cusotmisation (which is brilliant, by the way). |

Not sure what you mean by this, Richard - if you mean you'd like to see a similarly high level of customisation, then maybe one day we will - in EVE Online there is currently development time going into investigating the possibility of custom starship skins, there will inevitably be cross-fertilisation between the games. But this is quite a way off, and I think we'd all love to see developer efforts concentrated on reducing lag before they introduce a load more!
If, on the other hand, you mean that you'd like your dropsuit to resemble WH40K armour, then absolutely not - it's not a Warty Thou game, that field is already well represented by great games, we don't need the only New Eden shooter to become another one. And anyway, CCP always intended Dust to expand the EVE universe, making it accessible to a wider audience than EVE appeals to. There's no way they will dilute the underlying Intellectual Property (even if GW did let them use the WH40K IP) |

As this game is based on the Unreal 3 engine, and as Unreal 3 (the game) had quite varied character options and even some medium-large maps, I don't see a real problem with this. Just a matter of getting it to work. |

Those games didnt have to count every single one of your own skill points when you started shooting people. |

Counting SP is done on the server side. There are no customizations there, just running numbers. Customizations are client side implementations and the client really doesn't do any number crunching.
And besides, I think multiplying a few numbers is a small task for the PS3 math coprocessor. Come on... |

Well, technically, processors can only add. All other mathematical functions are done via addition.
Really, though, I'd rather have a further draw distance than some decals on my armor. |
