forget everything you learned from shooters like CoD. Stick with it to upgrade you char and you'll find the game more enjoyable. Pick a role and go with it. Try not to stand off against every single opponent. There will be some battles that you can't win as a low level, so you need to know when it's time to run and fight another day. If you're not doing any significant damage and you're dieing quick then it's time to run. |

It takes more rounds to kill guys, so make sure to stay on the move...even when firing at a guy. (because they WILL have time to turn around and fire back... atleast until you get better weapons)
Stay with at least one other teammate. Easier to kill opponents and stay alive when it's 2v1 (especially when it's likely that the opponents has higher SP and better gear than you)
Try to out-think your opponent. If you hack an objective, you'll want to defend it. Think about where opponents could be coming from to disarm, so you can ambush them.

Definately stick with teammates and don't be afraid to hop in a vehicle as a gunner, I see pilots looking for gunners all the time. Cap objectives for easy points. Don't get frustrated if you die alot, just get back in there and help out the best you can. |

This is good.
*Ill add that this is a thinking shooter...do research[comming to the forums is a big plus]....examine the online manual[theres a link ^^^ up there somewhere stickied]
*Take your time, your going to die...but like any game, you'll get better and it will be worth it
*Keep around 20 Fittings ready[least the Dropsuit kind]...nothing worse then being in a round and seeing the message "Invalid Fitting"
*Listen to the comms...even if you cant take part[l usually cant due to my family's hellish ways...as my team found out today lol]...
*To quote the mighty Rambo...your brain is your best weapon...try different tactics...try different classes[youve got 3 character slots to test with]...examine the equipment you want so you know what skills to work on
Good luck:) |

I think it would be more reasonable to just throw the games into the bin. . . Nothing charitable about it . . .
Jokes aside: Don't look at the K/D ratio. This does not represent your worth in a game. The only thing that matters is, that you are hacking the objectives, and defend them from being hacked. Hack CRU's and Supply depots, cover people who are hacking. |

Shields, armour and damage. Don't forget what you know from MW ect like others say. Just modify how you use it. You can probably shoot better than a lot of guys at the mo, but you just don't start out with enough shields or armour to go 1 on 1 with anyone who DOES have the correct skills. Essentials are
Weaponry
Shield ops Shield upgrades Shield management
Mechanics Armour repairs
Advanced whatever suit you like. Sorted.

to start out, put enough points in caldari assault (lvl2) to unlock the standard suits and get the typeII, this will last you for a long time and is always good. Next work on getting complex shield extenders, then a basic armor repairer. Don't work on unlocking the advanced suits until you have the best modules to put on it, so you'll end up with a proto weapon, complex etenders, full engineering and electronics, and mechanics. Without the core skills, your suit is pretty much hollow.
Tony Calif said it better than I did. You don't have to forget everything you learned from CoD, but you need to rethink the way you approach others in this shooter. In most shooters, you're all on even ground and you have an equal chance of getting the kill as he does, but here that is so not the case as it has a strong mmo element. Remember the basics of any shooter: prefiring, don't chase into what you don't know, baiting, and when to and not to hipfire. |
