While you're up there drop an uplink so that your allies have a reasonably safe spawn point. I do this every game.just wish I didn't have to fly up there to shoot them down. ^^^This... It becomes tedious and boring for gameplay to have to babysit towers all game long.
i call it "playing NO police" and i sing my NO police song as i patrol the towers.
i also make a point to apologize to my teammates for making them go on ahead without me for the rest of the match, because i'll be off playing NO police.
at least i get some sick humor out of how ridiculous the whole situation is. |

Only if you can see them. Nope. SOMEONE has to be able to see them. Doesn't have to be me. Are you claiming that you can lock on with your swarm launchers if you cannot see them, but another player can?
if your squad leader marks them, they will draw from further away (perhaps infinite distance, i dunno) therefore being much easier to lock at range.
other than that though, i dunno what garret is talking about. i've never been able to lock onto stuff that is not drawing. and for the squad leader to mark it, it has to appear on map for him first. |

Target is outside draw distance, but there's a marker over it from someone else having eyes on the target. If there isn't an obstacle between you and the enemy, you can lock without needing them drawn in.
sounds like i'm a victim of horrible teammates then. but i'm rather proactive in chasing vehicles, so i guess if i can't see it nobody can, which would explain why i've never seen any practical benefit from this.
though in the case of tower campers, how often does ANYONE see them until they actually go up there? it almost seems like the height of the tower damn near IS the draw distance. i can occasionally see them if i'm super close to the base, but then the angle is so sharp that my missiles always hit the tower on the way up |

that might have been me actually... this happened to me in a game where i had mixed comms.
but if it was me, i wasn't on a tower, i was riding shotgun for a guy actually flying around. i wasn't really pissed, i was just stunned and amazed that it managed to hit ME and not the dropship... JUST me... i was like... the ****? |
