What's the most effective weapon for zoom distance? I noticed Fidelity mentioned in Tac sniper but not sure if that means it sees clearer (longer draw distance) or zooms in more than the others... Could make the difference when i'm trying to counter snipe... |

Doesn't matter really if you see the chevron just shoot beneath it and you generally get your kill. Trick is figuring out if he has seen you and is he aiming at you before you take your aim. |

- The MS lag time when you hit someone and seeing the shields go off and get a hit marker but not doing damage "This is really bad with the sniper rifles"
- The MS lag time at far ranged sniping, With such a small hit box added with the MS of players and server, It makes sniping at far ranged feel a little off.
- Draw distance, This makes sniping a hack point across the map impossible, even if your team mater is there and has a tag on them. This makes A LOT less points where you can camp and watch an objective, Witch a good sniper should be doing.
- I would like to see a little more zoom on the snipers or custom scopes for them.
- AR are just as well kill a sniper because of the lack or range you have to snipe them.

Hi guys, I play a scout+sniping+scrambler game. I generally come near the top of the table when the match is over (never, ever top though... still waiting!), so I guess that's not "useless".
It's a lot of fun, particularly if you are dominating as the attackers and pin the other team down in the far north of the map, sniper heaven as they die and spawn over and over and if you are lucky there is a supply depot nearby.
My question after reading this thread is how can I be more effective at taking down dropships, LAVs and HAVs, this past server up time I tried AV Grenades for the HAVs but it wasn't very effective. I remember reading something in a sniper description about a "well placed shot" being able to do more damage to vehicles, so is there a weaker armor spot I should be aiming for?
I realise that trying to be Anti-Vehicle is not really a scout-y thing to be doing but it would be nice not to have to ignore them completely.
Anyway, here's some sniper tips:
1. There is only one true "corridor" on the map and that is the quickest route from [B] to [A] so if you can set up shop on the hill to the east of A sometimes it pays off massively.
2. Sniper 101 seems to be "get up on top of the buildings in a suit you can drop uplinks in and then spawn their over and over", this is noob-ish but good for learning, the most south westerly one is popular, above [B], especially as when the cost is clear you can jump and land right next to it for a hack or override.
3. This is "duh" but I see people being idiots, range is your friend. I watched a guy with a sniper defending and spawning in the northern part of the map and running forward and taking cover behind the walls and popping out to shoot and dying over and over and over in front of me... while I had run backwards up the hills and was doing pretty well out ranging the enemies, allowing my team to avoid being pinned down. This is true even when defending an objective you have taken, hack it and run to a place where you are far away from it but have a clear sight to the terminal... do not hang around you squishy scout, this can be a good way to rack up a few quick kills with well placed headshots.
4. Use a sniper with a 5 capacity magazine not a 3... it makes a difference and the slower RPM is really not much of a burden but the fewer reloads can often make the difference between downing someone and not.
5. If you are far away and they are running you need to shoot slightly in front of them, once you acquire the knack for moving your reticle smoothly along the trajectory they are running in you will be more successful. Trying to leave the sniper still in a spot you hope they run in front of is not good strategy.
6. People love manning those turrets... lucky for you that's an easy headshot even from really long range.
7. Sensitivity up!

I actually love making Dropships and Tanks retreat..you dont have to put em down to be effective....youve got those walking Tanks to finish em off.
Not to sure about "weak spots"...l usually just aim for the Gunner when dealing with Dropshops...if no gunner, l just unload into the Ships flank/rear and try to avoid going splat. ....to counter splat, place an RE near you..back up, and click
Tanks, pretty much same thing...keep flanking em till they withdraw. I find the Sleek AV grenade better then the higher tier one...it has better distance.
Of course, with the next update, AV grenades are really going to be good.
Ive destroyed both types, but as l said..all you really have to do is make them retreat. |

Well that werid i am a sniper and im always blowing up tanks with my av grenade you just have to make sure that you get ti spot on or just hold the av for a bot then throw for insta dmg. If your facing very strong tanks then your av's wont do as well of course but thats y they have the ones that do 2000 dmg HEHEHE. Also i see scouts as really good for taking out tanks cause of our speed we can dodge better than other classes and run around corners much quicker REMEMBER THE SCOUTS MAIN WEAPON IS SPEED. |
