I like it.
A few people have thought it was a good idea, but I haven't seen any specific suggestions for a way to implement it. This is a very sensible way to make the system work. |

I have another idea.
Vehicle owner (and YES, the game SHOULD know who called in a tank, because it has their fitting and name on it) should be able to reclaim driving position whenever they want. it's THEIR tank. THEY built it. THEY made it so it will follow THEIR instructions. While in the driver's seat, holding triangle should let you move to one of the turrets EVEN if there's someone else in the tank (kicking them into the driver's seat). |

But they'd need to either have a marker to show if you can drive the tank or not, or they'd need to make them look more unique than they currently do. |

5 - 10 second lockout to anyone but the player who called the vehicle when it first arrives. 10 - 20 second lockout from the driver's position AND ONLY THE DRIVER'S POSITION when the owner HOLDS the exit button instead of tapping it. While in the vehicle in any position, the own can reclaim the driver's seat by pressing and holding triangle.
This sounds good. Now all we need is comment from CCP. It makes sense based on the lore, too (as shown below in an answer to gangsta nachos (and I'm fairly sure I answered this same objection in another thread)
gangsta nachos wrote:1)So if the enemy gets out of their vehicle we shouldn't be able to hack it then because it's theirs correct.
2)Or if there is no one in it it is fair game enemy or not.
^which statement sounds correct^ 1. You can't just hop in and take off with an enemy vehicle though. As you already admitted, YOU HAVE TO HACK IT FIRST.
2. If there's nobody in the vehicle, or at least nobody in the driver's seat, it's fair game. BUT if the owner of the vehicle (WHO IS YOUR ALLY) comes along and asks for their stuff back, it's reasonable to expect it, BECAUSE YOU'RE ALLIES. Also, because you don't have to hack friendly vehicles, you're leaving the computer systems in their initial state, meaning the owner of the vehicle can be reasonably expected to have an override code built into their suit which lets them take control. |
