I had a blast this weekend going absolutely insane with all the people on. Probably the most fun I've had in the game yet, so props to CCP for the marketing push this weekend.
As for all the SP I've accumulated it made me wonder. How does everyone else spend their SP?
Do you focus on Dropsuits 5 or racial suit levels? Or do you focus on individual dropsuit modules or weapons first?
I've done a ton of fitting and it appears that I should go for the better suit first then just fill it with a bunch of better modules as I go along. I'm only about 1.5m SP total anyway.
Sorry vehicle fitters, I intentionally left you out. I haven't gotten to vehicles yet just because I like to focus on a single class first. I welcome your advice on dropsuits though. |

Was it tough fitting proto weapons with higher PG/CPU needs on the lesser suits? I'm finding I can barely stick everything I want onto a Type-II Assault suit. |

If you spend the skill points on weapons you will likely have enough cpu/pg for all of the militia items. Upgrade your weapons first so you can kill quicker, then get an advanced suit so you have more cpu/pg for the mods you will upgrade afterwards. Or to save isk you can skip getting the suit until you level up your mods. |

I upgraded my AR to level 5 and now I plan on getting my dropsuit to level 5. That being said I didn't really work on it too much this weekend...lol I have ADD when it comes to skill points and I'm like OOOOOHHHHH shiny, and get something that I could in all honesty wait until after my DS is up to 5. On a brighter note, when my DS is at lvl 5 I won't have to upgrade all the other annoying little modules...heh |

Yeah I ended up going straight for AR lvl 5 since I do have the second level suit already. With the 1mil SP we're getting next weekend I'll just get the suit then. Mods shortly after.
**** I love fitting. |

I like being fast, so I'm a Scout. Got a couple of points into Dropsuit Command, although I'm not sure how useful it is when officially the Signature Radius isn't properly implemented yet. It still makes me feel more sneaky sneaky.
And after getting slaughtered by Tanks for a while, I took the least common route that involves vengeance - I went for AV infantry. Given my lack of love for Heavy suits, this obviously meant Swarm Launchers. |

Honestly, I would suggest putting it in support skills. The ones that give you +2% here, +3% there
It might not seem like much, but those start to add up fast, and for the increase in performance, you don't have any increase in isk cost, unlike prototype/advanced weapons and suits.
From there, once you've got a chance to see what the game is like, and how you enjoy playing, specialize. |

Survivability ftw. I actually skill into shields first, then mixed between AR and my dropsuit. |

I'm pretty useless, and wasted about 2-3 million SP on Scout and Assault dropsuits which I don't use anymore. I'm now leveling up Heavy, I have all my shields and armors at 4, and have a prototype Assault Forge Gun and Mass Driver. Also, Shotgun level 2. I also wasted about 1 mil SP on a dropship that I no longer use either. Dominating as a Heavy is just too damn fun. |

Fitting skills (Electronics, Engineering, the weapon upgrade skills) are key. Tanking skills, especially Mechanics and Shield operation, which give you free HP in every suit and vehicle, plus either the armor or shield tanking skills you need to fit a solid tank. The "support" skills, the ones that give passive bonuses, even if they don't unlock equipment, are VERY important. Do not neglect them.
As far as the choice between suits and weapons/modules goes, the rule in EvE has always been to train to properly fit your new ship before you train to fly it. So make sure you can properly fit your proto suit before you start spending the SP and isk on running with one. The proto suits' greatest strengths are its ability to fit a large number of prototype modules, not in the base armor and shield stats. |

I went tank, scout suit, speed skills, starting to go more for my gank.
Los has learned quick. He's just a nub that can't get in my game to try and kill me. |
