Tips
* Blind spot above them. any dropship with a capable pilot can manipulate this.
* Blind spot directly next to them. if you are touching its hull it can only barely scratch you with minor splash damage, just stay away from walls.
* Slow to turn. Scouts and Assault suits can just pace with a tank by using its close up blind spot and slow turning speed to avoid damage
* Can't access higher ground. infantry on a building/cliff/hill/tower are very tough to hit with any vehicle turret as long as you (the infantry) make sure they (the tank) cant hit you with splash damage via a nearby wall/hill-side/cliff-face
* Slow to repair/heal If you deal a fistful of damage to a tank and it kills you/runs away, tell your team where it is and where its going so they can finish the job.
* Can't hide. See above
* Can't chase (through narrow areas). Run if you are ill-equipped to deal with the tank in your current suit
tank with Missile Turret: attack with Railgun tank, or from high ground, Swarm Launchers are great for this, play whack-a-mole from high ground and the tank will be forced to flee.
tank with Railgun: attack with high-flying dropships, or from up close. Manipulate the slow turning speed and slow rate of fire to embarrass them
tank with active gunners: Avoid. There are 3 people wasting their time in that tank if you just stay away. Alternatively you can coordinate with your team. If the tank driver starts to get reckless and drives all over the map, set up a trap.
Tanks are not OP, if one side brings in 3+ decked out Sagaris (Sagari? Sagarises?) and the other side doesn't have any of their own, its going to be a roflstomp, as it should be. One team brought ~ a million credits worth of liability to the match, and if they get destroyed or lose the match they are out that money.
I've seen games where my team with 2 super tanks had everyone with 5-1 KDR or better, and the opposing team had no one with a KDR better than 1-1... But my team lost because no one was really focusing on the objectives and the tank pilots lost their investment.
TL;DR Forge Guns, Swarm Launchers, Dropships, Railguns, Teamwork, and Positioning all beat tanks. |

Splash damage from the rockets is relative to distance from impact to target. If you are touching the hull of a tank, the splash from even the XT large missile turret on a Sagaris will not kill a scout suit with less than 3 shots. Assuming of course that the scout is letting the tanks turret turn to face him.
Max moving speed of a tank might be 24, but they take time to build momentum, dont engage on an open road and they cant run away from you. |

Icy Tiger wrote:The one thing that nullifies all you points is that the tank driver sucks in your scenarios, other than the dropship one. The best tankers ALWAYS start reversing at high speeds as soon as you get close. And the amount of shields and armor these guys have is out of hand. But teamwork does work. My team beat 4 of the other teams Suryas, Madraugars etc. because we communicated and took them all down as soon as they came at us. Also 3 dropships helped as well. It got to the point where they stopped spawning any vehicles for the rest of the game.
Note, I didn't say destroy, I said disable. If they are going full reverse to stay alive go set up a trap for them elsewhere, get to higher ground, etc. Use the reprieve to bring the fight around to your terms. |

That is the only role RE should be used at. Setting up traps on tank roads and blowing them up. NOT jumping and tossing them in close quarters for easy kills. Also, I disagree with slow regen. The basic Soma tank can fit in a large armour repairer. That thing has a 3 minute cooldown, but it repairs the whole tank from 1% to 100% in about 15 seconds.
I was going to put remote explosives in the list, but as a tank driver I've never been really threatened by them. In coordination with other methods of attack I'm sure its fantastic though.
3 min cooldown. I consider that pretty slow regen when it takes ~10 seconds to spawn and only about ~1 min to call in a vehicle of your own. |

William HBonney wrote:The tanks have no need to bring the fight to you, they will just keep driving, hitting a tank with a forge gun 4 times is very hard...and they gotta not be moving....most decent drivers will not stay still...they just keep moving covering spawns and such.. Tanks currently have insane health and insane damage, soo they can deal the hurt without much worry or risk.
Having trouble with moving tanks? try the Swarm Launcher. No need to worry about pesking aiming... lock on, fire, and forget. Fully upgraded SL does Immense damage and the tank will struggle to avoid the missiles if you shoot from higher ground.
