I know that I am one of the few remaining people left on Earth that doesn't have a high-def TV, but why do devolopers insist on punishing me with this itty-bitty text? I have a huge 36" "tube TV" and I can barely read the font if I squint and hypothesize. Please, help me out. I love my TV and I would love to know what's going on in this game. I can't get rid of my baby because how will I be able to play House of the Dead 2 or Time Crisis or any other light gun game that I still love and play on a regular basis? |

there's not much we can suggest except getting a high def TV. which im afraid is the only answer any non dev can give you. judging by the people on this forums i can guess any one else who responds to this will probably say something along the lines of "get with the times." but as far as I know there is no solution we as the community can give. maybe a Dev will read this though. |

As a user of a low definition television, I can safely say that I agree with the OP. As for getting with the times, NIS allows you to choose large text and is mostly sprites, and I'll still put more time into any one of their games than most of the PS3's glossy shiny things.
You are not alone Vorsu, here is your first like :D |

I am also behind this, sometimes you just have more important thing to use your money on than a HD television. |

Thanks guys. It's good to know I'm not alone. I would love to "get with the time," but that's simply not an option. So here's to the devs paying attention. |

I agree with the OP, text is much too small for non-HD... the default PS3 cable is not even HD anyway... making the text all but unreadable, and i would cringe to try a PSP |

Even worse is that the text is sometimes difficult to read ON HD displays. (Maybe I'm just going blind...heh)
I also used to use my PS3 with an SDTV, and the text in some games such as Mass Effect 2 were simply unreadable. I can only imagine how bad it is for this. On my PC monitor, the text is mostly readable but could use a greater DPI value for easier viewing.
Perhaps they could implement what Polyphony Digital did for Gran Turismo 5, and add a "Zoom" feature for navigating menus on SDTVs. This would zoom into the screen allowing users to read the text options presented. |

The text size and resolution in general is something they have told us they are working on improving. |

Agreed. I wear glasses and sit maybe 3 or 4m from my 32" tv, and I often find myself getting up to check what something says. An option to up the text size a bit would be nice. I don't really care if I have to scroll through more screens or anything.

I am pretty sure I remember reading that standard definition support is on it's way. I hope that is the case for you guys. |
