I needed to use the restock uplink [edit: nanohive] for the first time today in an ambush game but then realised I'd never used one before and didn't initially know what to do.
I was expecting it to either automatically restock my ammo once I was stood within the effect or display a prompt in a similar manner to a supply terminal.
To help other/new players avoid confusion is it possible for the uplink [edit: nanohive] to prompt you to press the reload button when close enough? |

I don't understand what you're asking for.
A nanohive does automatically resupply your ammo when within its effect range. If you were standing next to a drop uplink, those are just spawn points. |

Also you're thinking of Supply Depots which allow you to change your loadout, nanohives do not allow you to do this, and drop uplinks certainly do not.
Drop Uplink - Gear Item that Allows Teammates to Spawn in that Location
Nanohive - Gear Item that Resupplies ammo to any teammate in the are of effect. Some versions also repair armor.
Supply Depot - Installation (Meaning you can't deploy them yourself) that resupplies ammo, repairs the armor of nearby vehicles, and allows teammates to change their loadouts. |

Apologies I got my terminology wrong
I am referring to nanohives
I'm not asking to be able to change my loadout but I'm pretty sure I didn't see any change in my ammo amounts (and I was completely dry) until I pressed the reload button.
Perhaps it was a bug then if you normally see your ammo increase immediately |

There's a bug where nanohives sometimes don't start replicating ammo immediately. I'm rather certain it's a time-based thing because once I stood inside my own (active) nanohive (the advanced one with the R-designation) while the match ended. I didn't get any ammo before but about 5 seconds after the match ended the nanohive started generating ammo.
At other times I think you can fix the bug by spending some ammo and reloading. But it's hit-and-miss, so it might be a time-based issue after all. This bug never happened to me with the standard nanohive, but the advanced nanohive with the R-designation doesn't replicate ammo immediately in 1 of 5 attempts. I'm fairly certain that when the bug happens nobody gets ammo from the nanohive until it fixes itself. But that's hard to test in a heated battle situation. |
