Just wanted to say to the community team that I think including some sample fittings in the newsletter is a great idea. (For those of you not sure what I'm talking about, check your inbox for an email titled DUST 514 Closed Beta - July 11, 2012 News and Updates). It's a relatively simple fit, really just a first step out of using a militia weapon, but I think it's something that a lot of people are struggling with right now. I even see comments on the Forums from some of the better FPS players that make me realize their fittings aren't exactly the best they could be. Until Dust really has the full community surrounding it and comes up with accepted standard fits, I think fits from the Developers in the newsletter provide a great introduction to fitting concepts for the playerbase at large and hope CCP keeps it up.

I get a lot of questions from MAG players about the best way to fit.
I think a lot of the complaining coming from the FPS side of things has to do with them not fully understanding Eve's fitting system. |

Why not do a post on different fittings and as the nice ccp people to sticky it, I certainly would find it helpfull |

I think we should make a thread on what fittings work best for us? Yeah, standard fittings will come, but why not help them arrive faster? Maybe everyone post a fitting, etc etc? You know, to help people out who come from the FPS background and get them started. I think it should follow a format too, something along the lines like this:
Title of Fitting
-Primary Weapon
-Secondary Weapon
-Equipment
-Modules
-Pros
-Cons
-Skills required
-Difficulty rating: i.e. 1/5 or Advanced (whatever seems fit)
I guess I could start the thread or something? Meh. |
