Yes.. You know the thing that was invented in the ancient times and are still widely used to climb structures. Yet Dust 514 has these huge maps with a lot of height variation for us to use for our advantage. But for some very odd reason there seems to be no ladders, stairs or elevators to get on top of these buildings.
It's pretty unpractical to call up a dropship taxi and hope for it to fly over one of these things just so you can back stab a sniper or take a strategic defensive position. Not to mention a bit expensive and waste to buy one of your own, each time you want to go on top of a building.
it might be that in EVE universe these might already be replaced by teleporters, but I am yet to see any of those either. |

Sounds familiar, my great great great great great great great great clone must have read some ancient texts about your endeavors. The texts where written on these walls of the ruins that once belong to a long lost civilization.

These legendary artifacts still exist? amazing!
but with all the seriousness, the map offers great deal of vertical versatility and it's a shame its not but to a good use. |

Teleports, stairs and gravity elevators would probably be the best choices for current map. 2 of the buildings are rather tall so ascending the ladders would probably be too slow.
Adding some form of interior to the buildings or attached platforms could also work giving the map more strategic options. But this would require a bit more work than say simple stairway on the side of the building. |

Due to the new maps still missing these ancient structures or alternatively something that has replaced them I decided to BUMP this up a bit. Currently they are needed more than ever due to dropship pilots being a rare breed these days and possibly on their way to extinction.
There's so much height variation in the maps, that it just seems criminal to force us find the nearest cliff to to get on these structures. |

Who needs ladders anyway when a dropship can get you to whatever high place you need and the militia dropships have an unlimited supply. No more unlimited dropships. Plus they are a bit more difficult to fly. I actually would like to see more ladders on maps because they make us venerable. You want to get onto the roof of that building? Fine, but you might get shot in the back of the head while your doing it. Its a risk reward thing.
Yeah, but if you can get there and pop a drop-uplink and get a few friends you'll be able to lay down quite potent ambush from the roof. It's way easier to shoot down than it's up and you get some protection off the wall too. Not to mention how uncomfortable it's to shoot targets on the higher ground due the fact that there might still be enemies on the lower ground targeting you.

CCP just posted concept art for a space elevator in their Facebook page.. If ladders are inefficient in this day and age, they could at least give us something less grand than space elevator. It would give the music developer/s a rare chance to try out his skills at making elevator music. |
