i would love to hear from a DEV on this one
but in the future will we be able to manufacture/sell/buy the ammo we need in a battle?
a real merc has to buy everything...or get a sugar daddy to buy it for him
i love how you have to buy ammo in EVE to keep your self alive in combat
it would be awesome to see in Dust :) |

Well there is of the issue of when is too much too much in going to depth.
I purpose you have it setup to have magazines instead, that way nanohives can read the magazine and rebuild the ammo based on those. |

Don't quote me on this, but I expect that the different ammo types would just be the different weapon types. Some are better against shields, some armor, some structures/vehicles. Makes the most sense to me without throwing another spanner into the works. |

Yes and no. They could probably throw in separate ammo clips if they wanted to (and add in full resistances etc...) but that requires FPS Player buy in. They're already complaining about the shields & armor they have to get through...I wouldn't want to hear the tears on the forum if they had to strategize shield buffs & ammo types too, even if they make a ton of sense (higher power lower range, thermal vs lead slugs vs explosive rounds, etc...)..
It's something I'd love to see, but I don't see it happening at least for a while. Before they even thought about introducing it they'd have to introduce specific type damages (em/thermal/kinetic/explosive) and matching resistances -- super easy, yes -- but it would need to be balanced with the existing weapons & suits.
It might happen once we have all of the different racial gears filled out, but I doubt we'll see any further progression in resistances & damage types until then. |
