I've played 3 games (I think) where there has been an active commander marking targets and things.
And maybe a couple where someone's just marked "defend me" and left it at that.
Other than those few, most people seem not to be using squad commands very much. |

The hold X then thumb over to your command and release is annoying as hell. It'd be much better if you just press X to pop the wheel up and then select your command Supposedly you can do it without going to map by holding R2 and clicking R3.
R2 is easier to hold while moving the stick.
But I agree, hopefully the controller remap options include individual hold/toggle settings for each wheel you can open. |

Also; Please give Squad Leaders "On the fly" command ability. I'm sure it was addressed here, but having to open up the map and give a command is rather annoying. I'm sure we can utilize the D-Pad in a much better way. Hold R2, click R3, and you get on-the-fly command wheel replacing your weapon wheel. |

Sneakatoke wrote:thanks. I suppose I should read the manual eh? Haha I found out the same way you did.
A helpful person posted it in a thread I was reading.
I don't think it's in the manual (if it is, I missed it). |

I'm sure we can utilize the D-Pad in a much better way. Hold R2, click R3, and you get on-the-fly command wheel replacing your weapon wheel. Still, a one-button command ability would be great. Just allow commands to be given by holding "Select" and move the comms to the left directional button. Makes it way easier to access. And by one button, I mean "Select" as opposed to "R2 and R3," not, "only one command available." Although, a system like Battlefield's would probably work alright too. Any objective your team still holds automatically gets a "Defend" order, while any red objective gets an "Attack" order and anything in between gets "Rally." You could still select a command by holding "Select," but a quick button press would give you the default order. I wasn't saying it's ideal, and I wasn't saying it's clean or easy.
Just that you asked for an "on the fly" ability that doesn't require you to open the map, and that's exactly what it is (although it needs a lot of work). |

Hold X with knuckle, use tip to move stick.
Same way I aim while jumping. |

Aq'sa wrote:Heh, despite your odd hand acrobatics allowing rally to be used- I'm sure thats in the works it's in the known bugs on release notes. By the way no bonus for fighting near the rally point- intended? ....good idea? Rally points are meant as a way to advise teammates of points of interest on the map. Giving any kind of reward for being NOT near an objective is a bad idea generally.
I'd like it if people OTHER than squad leaders could mark enemies or other points of interest on the map for teammates though. No bonus points for the target, just a notification of "look over here please" - even if it only showed up for the squad leader and part of their job was to pass any relevant suggestions on to the rest of the team. |
