In the game Starhawk, when you spawn, you actually crash to earth in a Pod, then have upto 5 seconds to spawn...giving you time to view if your being camped and/or for backup to arrive....after the 5 seconds your forced to spawn, so its not abused but gives you an option or two.
Being we have Dropships and Dropsuits..Droppods seems like they would be a perfect fit.
Just a suggestion, after seeing ...a few threads on the subject:) |

What they need to do is spawn you cloaked like in eve and it drops when you move or your timer is up. |

The problem with drop pods is if they can drop there, why not anywhere else on the map?
A way to counter campers would be giving a CRU or spawnable objective a sensor perimeter to detect enemies in that area. Then you would know not to spawn there (or even request an orbital strike). |

What if its the only spot to spawn? Then you have to spawn there into a hail of death. |

Sounds good to me, anything that helps the players and continues the Lore. |

I feel as though the MCC needs to be above the "ceiling" and instead have everybody spawn in the MCC. You can jump out to the surface or take a dropship from the bay that you request. Seems only fair? Then you actually feel the importance of the MCC. |

Spawning in the MCC actually seems really cool. It is the Mobile Command Center right? Unless it flies in alone and all the mercs just fall from orbit? |

I like this idea and it reminds me of the early trailer footage released for Dust514 where all the troops were descending on the battlefield in Dropships.
Spawining/respawning as a unit like in MAG would be plausible via the Dropship. The time it takes to bring you down from the MCC is the window you have to spawn with a group. These Dropships would be immune to destruction, but also only be able to drop you off at the back end of the battlefield and you would have to work your way up to the front line. Of course you would still have the option of spawning from the Clone Banks or Droplinks etc.
During the drop, it would be really cool to be able to pan the camera to overview the battle as you descend. |

I am partial to the idea of people dropping from orbit. Although that makes me wonder where in orbit are they dropping from. So this is where a MCC spawn would make sense, but if people only spawn in the MCC then how would droplinks work? So many questions to ponder... |

For attackers having your default spawn be the MCC actually makes a lot more sense then how it works right now (some arbitrary point on the battlefield). Then you could be ferried via dropship or inertial damp on down.
Drop links and other spawns would still work the exact same way I guess, though I'm still a fan of CRU/droplink only spawns (letter spawns suck and they make no sense lore-wise. Why am I randomly appearing 30 meters from a blaster turret?). |

Spawn need to be further away from the objectives. And also something needs to be added to prevent spawncamping as stated above. |

The Dropship spawn that starts from the MCC would enable you to spawn as a squad. You could then get a lift from your team's Dropship Pilot from the back end of the battlefield.
Meanwhile the Droplinks could be used to spawn closer, but you would be on your own since there is a wait between spawns and with some Droplinks they only have limited uses. |

Spawning from the MCC is a great idea, but one thing comes to mind;
If at the beginning of a battle the attackers spawn from the MCC and must ride dropships to the battlefront, what's to stop the enemy from grabbing all of the Militia Swarms they can get their grubby hands on and downing every dropship that comes into view?
I understand that fitting out a tank on the dropship would help alleviate the problem, but I have yet to see an HAV that can take an entire team of swarms.
Why not give the players a choice between the MCC spitting out their own drop pod, or spawning in the back of the MCC to board up onto a drpoship? This way there's at least a few guys on the ground putting pressure on the forges / SL's, while the dropships haul the large groups of players to the forefront.
To keep people from only sticking with drop pods and to keep dropships useful, make a drop pod an asset that is used up when it hits the ground. Dropships would be able to go back to the MCC for a second group, while the drop pod is destroyed on use.
Both would have their own benefit. Drop pods would be difficult to destroy and add a layer of safety for attacking soldiers, while dropships are reusable mass-troop transports. |

To fix spawn camping around objectives they just need to fix the bug and randomize the spawns. For the CRUs I think it would be neat if we were launched out of the CRU and then landed in a specific radius around it. |

I think you should be able to choose the spawnpoint and you get launched into this area or something like that :) it would be really cool. |

Maybe include that with drop uplinks and uncapturable respawns. The CRU's make sense to just pop up around (it's a box full of clones and nanites), but to just *POOF* onto a drop uplink is kinda weird. |
